Toyota Prius Owner Ratings & Reviews

2003 Toyota Prius - Stress-free car
I only recently had to donate my 2003 Toyota Prius to charity when I couldn't afford to replace the $2,000 Prius battery. Considering the state of the car and the mileage, the car was totaled. I owned this car for six years, and it was the most reliable one I'd ever driven. It was extremely easy to maintain and easy to drive. It's a small detail, but I also liked that the gear shift was by the wheel.
Story
This car was with me through everything. I moved by myself about three times with it and was able to fit all of my belongings. I even folded up a full-sized bed in there.
Pros
The car was really small, which meant that it was easier than many other cars to drive in San Francisco. The power steering was accurate, the breaks felt natural and everything just happened to feel right for someone my height. I got great mileage and usually paid around $40 for a full tank, which lasted me two weeks.
Cons
The tires were special and difficult to find when I wanted to replace them. Either I had to go to a specific place or they had to special order the parts for me. The Prius battery was super expensive. Had it not been so much, it would have been well worth it for me to keep this car and may have lasted me many more years.
2006 Toyota Prius -
I really love this car. This was my first hybrid vehicle (and, so far, my only hybrid vehicle), and the difference between this and my gas vehicle were very noticeable. I think the positives greatly outweigh the negatives for the Prius, and it is a car that I would highly recommend to people. Even though it is a used car, it still feels like one of the more forward-thinking cars that I have ever driven.
Story
When I moved out to California with my car, I drove it down the PCH to Malibu one Saturday afternoon. Knowing I was in a fuel efficient vehicle in one of the most beautiful places in the country made my heart swell with happiness.
Pros
I love the keyless entry. It's nice to just keep the key in my purse and not have to constantly dig around for it. I also love the center console and the screen that displays everything. I really appreciate seeing the fuel efficiency displayed. It is very visually appealing for me. I also love how much trunk space there is. I travel a lot, so I like being able to have ample room for both mine and my companions' luggage.
Cons
There aren't that many downsides to this car. The only thing I can really think of is that it's a bit difficult to see out of the back window. I'd like the back window to be wider and easier to see out of when I'm backing out. I know there is a reverse camera on the display, but I'd also like to be able to get an ample view of what is actually back there.
