The Ford Ranger is a highly coveted truck for those who want the versatility of a truck without the heavy-duty horsepower. The XLT has a v6 engine. This puts it in the category of larger trucks such as the F150 and Dodge Ram. However, with a smaller, lighter body, it gets better gas mileage than either of those models. The crew cab is somewhat lack-luster, providing only cramped jumper seats. The Rangers have great engines, from the oldest to newest models. However, the bodies are not so great. In places where the roads get salted in winter, it is a good idea to seal the bottom of the truck. Otherwise rust will start to eat at the engine mounts and body after a few years.
