Honda Accord Owner Ratings & Reviews

2002 Honda Accord - Great car for giving to your kid
This has been a great car. I bought it used three years ago from a family. After 13 years, it still looked great. I have had no issues with the paint or the interior leather and carpets. The engine runs quietly and smoothly, unless it is in need of oil or some other repair. The ride is smooth, and it accelerates smoothly. My model is a manual, and I have not had any transmission issues to date nor had the previous owner. I have had some work done on the engine, due to personal neglect, but this could be mitigated by an owner that is more attentive. The model I own also has a nice moon roof that opens for venting (kicks up the back portion) or slides all the way back to open entirely. The turning radius on this car isn't the greatest, but it's not the worst. For comparison, the same ye... (more)
Story
There are so many of these cars, especially in silver like mine, in my town. On top of that, a lot of the owners are college students (like I was), so we all share a similar "Chico State" sticker. I had to put a second sticker on my car to make it recognizable, because I almost tried to get into the wrong car by campus one night.
Pros
My favorite feature of this car is the ability to fit lots of stuff inside both the cabin and the trunk. Despite being a sedan, it has moved me from multiple apartments and has gone on a number of skiing and surfing trips with all sorts of equipment. The moon roof is always nice on a clear night or a sunny day. This car has the usual Honda hardiness and efficiency; driving 30 miles round trip to work each day gives me about 28 mpg.
Cons
This car does burn oil pretty quickly, which I understand is a common flaw for older Honda cars. I have to check the oil level about once every ten days and top it off frequently. Also, the rubber trim on the doors has faded and cracked off, but after 15 years or so in the sun, I'm not too worried (it just looks tacky). As for cargo room, it does fit a lot of stuff. The only problem is if you have stuff PLUS more than one passenger, in order to fit large items in the trunk, you must lay down the entire back seat rather than half of it. I have been unable to take passengers skiing or surfin... (more)
2000 Honda Accord - A gas-guzzling tank.
Before purchasing the car, I really liked the look inside and out. The profile of the car looked somewhat aggressive but also classy at the same time. The wheels weren't "fast and furious," but they also weren't boring old hubcaps like my previous Honda Civic. I was impressed with the interior leather, wood grain center console, built-in CD player, sunroof and all electric door locks and windows. It felt like a major step up from my older Civic. Once I drove the car, I could immediately tell the difference in power from my little four-banger Civic I had been putting around in. It was refreshing to not have to floor it in order to make it up long steep grade hills, and the power steering felt way better than what I had been previously driving with, so, overall, that's what sold me ... Story
I had a coworker roll down the passenger window about 30%, and for some reason, he rested his arm on the window. No idea what he was thinking/doing, but I still blame him for the motor burning out.
Pros
As I've driven the car over the years, I can't complain too much about the overall reliability. I'm not a heavy driver, but I also don't baby it. I haven't had many major issues outside the routine maintenance. I was concerned that all of the electronic equipment would come back to bite me as they systematically failed one by one, but, so far, the only thing I've had to replace was the motor on the passenger side window, which would only roll up about 95%. The car definitely lives up to the Honda name in terms of reliability.
Cons
The six cylinder definitely guzzles more gas than my previous four-cylinder Civic. My commute no longer includes highway driving, so I'm suffering with a 14-18 miles per gallon through the city. When I was driving highway, it wasn't that much better at 20-22 miles per gallon. Comparing that to my old Civic which routinely got 28-30 miles per gallon. Aside from that, there have been a couple of annoying things I wish I knew before I bought the car. One was the transmission recall, which mine was taken care of before I bought it, but had I known beforehand, I probably would have gone wit... (more)

Grass Valley, CA Dealer Ratings & Reviews

2001 Honda CR-V - Antioch Toyota
The people on the sales floor are great. They don't pressure you and have lots of information. I got the exact car I wanted. Admittedly, it was overpriced, but I couldn't find something like it anywhere else and I wanted the dealership's warranty and care plan. Also, all but two of the guys working in the shop are nice. The shortest guy working there has a real bad attitude and treats women unfairly. The other guys are nice and hard working, though.
2013 Honda Accord - Mel Rapton Honda Sacramento
I went in unsure of what type of car I was looking for and the salesman was extremely helpful in asking the right questions and finding out what I wanted. The salesman was not pushy or the usual "car salesman" type you'd worry about, in fact all of the employees I had contact with were extremely helpful and didn't seem like they were there just to make a quick buck. I'd refer anyone to this dealership.
