Honda Accord Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2005 Honda Accord - Great first car for a college student!
I think that a Honda Accord is a very suitable car for a first time owner and student. The car is small and compact and is a 4 cylinder, meaning that students will get good gas mileage. The car is also a 4 door, providing a spacious environment for people to ride in the car along with the driver. It performs well and the car drives smoothly. The quality is excellent and it is often a car that many first timers will own.
Story
I drove this car up to tahoe which was about a 2 hour drive and I found that the nice speaker system, the air and the smooth ride all contributed to making the trip enjoyable.
Pros
Excellent on gas. I drive to school every morning and back and I only have to pump gas about once a week. Another great thing is that the car comes equipped with A/C and a heater for the varying weather changes. Lastly, the car is compact and small - perfect for a young student.
Cons
There are not many negatives to the car as I find it to be a great quality vehicle. If anything, the one main con is that the doors and the trunk door are all quite heavy. This makes them not stay open on their own and I have hit myself with the doors before. It is also a hassle having to hold them as you are trying to get out, reach something, or simply use the trunk. Another small con would be that because the car is older, it does not come with an auxiliary cord.
2000 Honda Accord - Not sexy but dependable
My car is a 2000 Honda Accord. I purchased this car because my last car was a Honda, and my experience with my prior vehicle influenced this purchase. It's not the sexiest vehicle, but it is a very dependable car that gets decent gas mileage and has required little maintenance over the years other than the recommended maintenance based on mileage. One thing I dislike about the car is that it isn't very powerful when I go over the mountains, but that's the trade-off I get for the mileage.
Story
A girlfriend one time mentioned she knew she could trust me in the relationship because not owning a flashy car meant that I was dependable and most definitely not going through a mid-life crisis.
Pros
The Honda Accord is a dependable, cost-effective vehicle that has never let me down despite putting 200,000 miles on it. It gets good gas mileage considering its age, and I've never had to take it to the shop for major repairs. The trunk space is sufficient, and you can take down the back seats for transporting most items that are too long for the trunk.
Cons
The only major negative thing about this vehicle is the lack of serious horsepower in the engine. It's also a bit indistinct in design, so if you're in a parking lot full of other vehicles, remember where you parked, as it's not going to jump out at you based on its design. One more thing...it's not the best vehicle for those that are very tall. My girlfriend hates driving my car, because she feels folded up and crammed into the vehicle.
