Reliability and ease of maintenance built in.
I have owned this vehicle for more than 7 years now and really enjoy it. Before owning the car I was the mechanic on it for a few years, but that does not require much with these cars. I really liked how easy it was to work on. Previous experience with Hondas in general was usually frustrating because of the amount of vacuum hoses in earlier models, not here. Being a mechanic for many years this is a plus. These cars are near impossible to break with proper maintenance. And that maintenance is very cheap. The car is very easy to maneuver as well. Sight lines from inside the cabin are more than adequate, no major blind spots. The styling with these cars are easily modified as well with many kits and after market parts available nearly everywhere. What really drew me to the car was the size (its not bad on the eyes either). I do not have people riding with me hardly ever so the necessity of size was not important. But that is not to say the car does not adequate room for 99% of the time I am using it for. And were talking the 2 door model. Nothing really bad to say about it. Good gas mileage, still stylish after 20 years, still driving it.

Reliable but utopian
I really like the mid model update for the front end of the new 4Runner, it gives a more aggressive look that is desirable for me. I also like the overall look of the newer 4Runners. The cabin seems to have plenty of room for me and I am a pretty large guy. I like the bolstering of the front seats, they are very comfortable. There is plenty of room to carry things in the back and the middle seats fold down for even more room, if necessary. 4runners are known to have superior quality compared to other vehicles in its class. This is reflected with my vehicle, I have had no issues with is yet. I only get around 15-16 miles per gallon in my 4runner which leaves a lot to be desired from me. this is where my biggest gripe comes in. The 4runner in an immensely popular vehicle, but if you don't plan to off-road, it simply doesn't make much sense. It gets too poor of gas mileage, seems underpowered, and lacks some of the features of its competition now. Not to mention, it rides like a truck due to being of a cabin over frame design. If I had to do it over again, I would have probably purchased a newer GM pickup. That way I would have a bed, more power, and about the same, if not better gas mileage. But, overall the 4runner is pretty fun to drive while felling slightly underpowered.

Great car for the price!
As always, Honda put out a great car. In my 2008 Honda Civic SI, I average about 30 mpg combined. The car is very reliable, the only maintenance I have had to do to it is preventative maintenance and oil changes. The interior is comfortable and more spacious than it appears from the outside. I have the coupe version, and while the back seat isn't huge, it is large enough for an adult male to fit back there with relative comfort.
