The 2010 Honda Pilot is an excellent all around SUV for the active family. It is very spacious and roomy with its 3rd row seating and will seat eight people quite comfortably. Even with 2 kids in child safety seats, there was still ample room for our family of four, plus all of our luggage and equipment. The 3rd row seating easily folds down to provide a very spacious rear storage area. At the time we purchased the vehicle, Honda provided the most room when compared to other vehicles. The leather seats are nice and very durable. They stand up to the rigorous abuses that two small children can cause. The leather seats also clean up very easily. The roof rack makes carrying our canoe simple. And the towing package makes hauling our camper a breeze.
Story
Recently I hauled my canoe on top of the Pilot and pulled a vintage 1955 Siesta camper and took the family camping.
Pros
Best things about the Honda Pilot is the all wheel drive that is available in wintery weather. Also the dependability of the Honda brand. 110,000 miles and we have had no major mechanical issues.
Cons
The road noise in the Honda Pilot can be loud at times, especially when driving on the interstate. Also, it would be nice if the racks on the roof rack were able to spread farther apart.

I enjoy this vehicle for a few reasons. First, its a great size for my growing family. We often take it camping and on road trips and always have plenty of space. Also, it handles really wells in all types of weather. I live in an area that gets a lot of snow and ice in the winter and a lot of rain in the spring and the Pilot can handle it all. It does seem to struggle a bit getting started in the cold weather and maintenance has been a little costly, but overall, I enjoy it.
Story
Just recently, we took a road trip up the western US coast in our Honda and loved it the whole time. It was a three-day trip, but we never got impatient or felt overwhelmed by it because we had such a reliable vehicle with tons of space for everyone.
Pros
It has a lot of space and handles great in a variety of different weather scenarios.
Cons
Gas mileage isn't great (~19 mpg), and maintenance has been a bit costly (although, the car does have about 150,000 miles on it).
