Ford Explorer Eugene, OR OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

I got this car because it could tow a boat and fit my family plus in-laws when they came to visit. It also had better mileage than my previous vehicle. Overall it's comfortable, with plenty of room and it looks pretty nice. The front doors have an odd position for the open levers, but overall I've been pleased with just about everything. My three main complaints would be 1) I'd rather have even better mileage, 2) the rear hatch leaks every once in a while and 3) when the rear windows are rolled down, the wind makes a deep thumping noise that nearly makes me want to break things. I keep the windows locked to avoid the noise. Why do manufacturers not bother with wind tunnel tests with the windows down...? Otherwise, it's a great car.

I like that I feel safe, I like the view that you have while driving, the lack of blind spots is important I think.

I bought this car five years ago because it was the most reasonably priced SUV I could get with third-row seating. It has served our family well. I use it as a daily commuter and on many family road trips, and I've never been left stranded. I've had to replace small parts, i.e., brake light switch, heater door actuator, etc. but nothing major. My front suspension is worn out and needs to be replaced soon. Other than that, it's a good family car.
