I am very impressed with the build quality of this vehicle. It has over 150,000 miles on it at this point. The interior is in excellent condition. It has leather interior that is showing almost no wear. All of the electronics are factory and work very well. The Monsoon sound system is very good quality. The exterior of the vehicle is in excellent condition as well. The paint shows no signs of bubbling or peeling. The chrome does have a few spots that have not held up as well but still looks really good for its age. I have had no major mechanical or electronic problems with it. I expect it to continue to function and hold up well with regular maintenance. Being someone who's two previous vehicles were full sized SUVs, I would say that the interior size of the Hummer H3 compares more clo... (more)
Story
I have been very impressed with this vehicle while driving on muddy dirt roads. It handles mud and ruts very well without the stiff rugged suspension you would find in a Jeep.
Pros
I fell in love with the color of this vehicle. I was previously considering purchasing a Hummer, and when I saw this one and what great condition it was in, I made my decision. It performs well in rugged terrain, which is a benefit for me because I live in a rural area. All of the chrome accents and leather interior really set it off in the looks department.
Cons
This vehicle rates low in the gas mileage department. It gets a substantially lower MPG than I expected. While the exterior makes this vehicle look roomy, the interior is quite cramped. The power controls for the windows and door locks on the drivers side and the center console are situated quite far back so that you almost have to reach directly in line with your body to push these buttons or rest your arm on the console instead of your arm being in a comfortable position. The only interior lighting is also located over the second-row seating so there is no light for front seat passengers... (more)

When my husband came home with the Hummer H3 for me to use, I was initially very upset. I had always equated the Hummer as having really bad gas mileage and just too big for me. After the first drive, my dislike turned into sheer joy. This Hummer is smaller than the others which, for me being rather short, was a plus. I don't need a ladder to get inside. In addition, I feel safe being somewhat higher than other vehicles. Not only that, it does not zip through the gas tank as fast as the traditional and larger versions. I can go about a week on a full tank, and I drive quite a bit. I'm not sure exactly what the gas mileage is, but I do not notice it getting sucked up any faster than my previous vehicle.
Story
I went to pick my son up from school, and he had a few friends with him. They thought the Hummer was so cool. They were younger, so they did not know that it is actually the smallest version so, for them, it was huge and great to drive in.
Pros
Like I mentioned above, I feel safer in the Hummer H3 due to the larger size. I also find that it is better on gas than I initially assumed. I also love the look of it, and I get a lot of compliments from complete strangers at least once a week when I park in a grocery store. Overall, I am quite pleased with the Hummer H3. In fact, I think it is my most favorite vehicle that I have ever owned. I also would like to mention that I have done some maintenance and minor repairs, and I do not think the cost was exceptionally more expensive than any of my previous cars.
Cons
The only criticisms I have is that the radio has a loose connection which makes it go on and off, but that is to be expected with the age. I also had a problem with the heat not blowing, but that was under a recall, so we were able to get that fixed for free.
