When my husband came home with the Hummer H3 for me to use, I was initially very upset. I had always equated the Hummer as having really bad gas mileage and just too big for me. After the first drive, my dislike turned into sheer joy. This Hummer is smaller than the others which, for me being rather short, was a plus. I don't need a ladder to get inside. In addition, I feel safe being somewhat higher than other vehicles. Not only that, it does not zip through the gas tank as fast as the traditional and larger versions. I can go about a week on a full tank, and I drive quite a bit. I'm not sure exactly what the gas mileage is, but I do not notice it getting sucked up any faster than my previous vehicle.
Story
I went to pick my son up from school, and he had a few friends with him. They thought the Hummer was so cool. They were younger, so they did not know that it is actually the smallest version so, for them, it was huge and great to drive in.
Pros
Like I mentioned above, I feel safer in the Hummer H3 due to the larger size. I also find that it is better on gas than I initially assumed. I also love the look of it, and I get a lot of compliments from complete strangers at least once a week when I park in a grocery store. Overall, I am quite pleased with the Hummer H3. In fact, I think it is my most favorite vehicle that I have ever owned. I also would like to mention that I have done some maintenance and minor repairs, and I do not think the cost was exceptionally more expensive than any of my previous cars.
Cons
The only criticisms I have is that the radio has a loose connection which makes it go on and off, but that is to be expected with the age. I also had a problem with the heat not blowing, but that was under a recall, so we were able to get that fixed for free.

My 2007 Hummer H3 is the second Hummer I have purchased. The first one I only had two months before another driver caused me to drive head on into a traffic pole. I walked away with very minor injuries due to the safety features and strong build. This one we have driven over 40,000 miles in two years (it has a total of 91,000) and it doesn't rattle, and is still sturdy. We have taken it on several long drives and it is exceptionally comfortable, and for a large vehicle, rides very smooth even with the number of miles it has. Another one of my favorite things about the H3 is the small turning radius. Compared to other vehicles of similar size, it is easy to turn and maneuver into places I didn't think it would! I love the size and having the up high truck feeling but with an easier turn... (more)
Story
My favorite memory in this vehicle was driving it in Galveston, TX along with beach in the late spring. You see a lot of Jeeps and convertibles, but not many Hummers. I get a lot of compliments on how nice it looks when we drive it.
Pros
The H3 has many positives from the large size and not only feeling safe but actually being safe. The wide wheel base keeps it from being too top heavy. For a large vehicle, it rides really smooth, and is comfortable even on long drives.
Cons
The negative aspects are that it isn't being made anymore so when this one does reach the end of its life, I can't buy another one. The other negative is gas mileage but honestly it gets better highway mileage than I expected when I bought it. But it's not great.
