This car is really great. We got it a few years ago, and have driven it all over the place. There is a rack on top so we can strap on our bikes or kayaks, and ample room in the back to load up whatever you need. We even used this car to move apartments-twice! The gas mileage was decent, obviously not as good as a modern car, but good enough for an SUV. We did have to take it in to the shop a few times to replace old parts, like the brakes and the belt, etc. But never anything really major. I was sad to see it go when we had to sell it.

This car got me through my high school graduation, moving to college, moving out of college, moving two apartments, all the way until my first child was born. This car has seen my husband and I through every major event of the past ten years. We drove to and from our wedding in this vehicle!
Pros
Lots of room for storage and packing. Good gas mileage. Can get through anything.
Cons
The carpet frayed quickly in the front drivers side. The windshield spray stopped working and we had to replace the whole system.

From the first time I saw the original Isuzu Rodeos many years ago, I have always liked the styling of the car. Our family has always owned General Motors cars (primarily Chevys), but the Isuzu somehow has the look and the feel of a quality General Motors car and not the feel of a Japanese import, even though it is from Japan. The engineering is top notch and the quality of the workmanship is better than any other car that I have owned in my forty-five years of owning automobiles.
Title
From my first day test driving the car, I knew that it would be a good car. Our daughters were trying to tell me to by a Ford sport utility car, but the ride felt like marshmallows and I could see defects in the workmanship in the Ford (although it did have a better stereo system), so I stuck with my gut and bought the Rodeo, and I have not been sorry since.
Pros
This car just goes and goes. Like the Cadillac's of years gone by, all I have to do is put oil and gas in the car and the car does the rest of the work. The car currently has over 220,000 miles on it without one bit of problems on it. The four wheel drive works great in snow country and it can handle basic off roading.
Cons
There are three weaknesses that I have found in the Rodeo over the years. The primary weakness I found was the gas mileage at about 17 miles per gallon is adequate for a four wheel drive car, but our location is over 23 miles from a major shopping center, so any shopping excursion gets expensive before you even start shopping. The second problem has been when we go off road with the car in four wheel drive. If there are any major pot holes then the car is very challenged to get through them. The third issue is that like most sport utility vehicles, the car tends to have a rough ride wi... (more)
