Overall, the vehicle is decent. It has a good amount of hip and head room in the drivers sear area which is key for me being a bigger person. I also like that as a base model it had many of things I considered to be "must have" options. The main thing I dislike about this vehicle is the transmission. It is very choppy in low gears and tends to rev the RPMs too much when accelerating. I also don't like the engine shut off that happens when the car comes to a complete stop. This is a gas saving feature, but I'm not a big fan of it. You can turn it off with a button, but it cannot be permanently shut off.

I have owned several Jeeps and SUVs. The Grand Cherokee is hands down one of the best, regardless of price. The older versions have the lever to shift into four-wheel drive, and you won’t get stuck anywhere with it. The newer ones are either full-time AWD or push-button electronic AWD and not as good in my opinion. The ride is really nice on the highway, and it has great power as well. Tons of room. Fold the seats down for even more room or for camping. I miss my Jeep GC. I had about 135k miles on it, and it still ran like a top. If it weren’t for some rust on the hood and tailgate from harsh northeast winters, I would have kept it. One nugget is the handling. It was an SUV that drove like a car without a doubt. Smooth braking and easy power steering. Easy car to drive.
