I've had my Jeep for about a year now and I still love it! Its the perfect size for my photography equipment, its a smooth ride, and I feel safe driving it. It's the perfect height. I sit comfortably and I feel better driving it than when I drive a car. The gas mileage is my biggest complaint. The overdrive feature took me awhile to get used to but now that I've got the hang of it I think it's great. I can actually feel the difference between the two settings. I'm not crazy about where my spare tire is. Having rims was a change for me too. I think they look nice and I have a winter set and a summer set because I like to take care of them. I don't feel the wind as much as I did in a car. I go faster speeds and don't have to worry about losing control as much. It's a more expensi... (more)
Story
I come from a big family and we all meet at my moms for the holidays. I was the only vehicle that could make it up the driveway which made me feel proud. Even better than that was how smooth it went so none of the presents in the car moved while I fought the loose stones under my tires. This was important because I also had a casserole in the front seat that never moved.
Pros
Height Space Nice looking Safety Easy to fold seats Comfortable seats Comfortable grip on steering wheel Great air conditioning Control of bass/treble In vehicle storage space Easy ride
Cons
Gas Expensive upkeep

Overall, I'd rate my '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, a solid all-around vehicle. It's had a few knicks and knocks on it's way to ~150,000 miles (bought at ~70,000), but nothing that required the car to undergo a total facelift. It has a 4.7 V8, so power for anything between towing a trailer, or just showing off, isn't much of a problem. It was probably my favorite feature on the Jeep, and it separates it from most other like-SUV's on the road.
Story
I was one of the first of my friends to get a license, and I also happened to be one of the few who owned a passenger-type vehicle. So one day I loaded about 6 or 7 friends into my car and we cruised around our known neighbors and got into some shenanigans.
Pros
4.7 V8 engine was the top feature on the vehicle. It's nice to hit the accelerator and get a groove on. Because of the 4 wheel drive, I didn't have to have any other tires besides all-season ones. Living in a place where it can get a bit slick in the winter, the 4 WD was a must. It sits higher than cars, which is nice. I feel like I have very few blind spots.
Cons
The A/C blower motors were recalled sometime between the cars manufacture date and my purchase of the vehicle, which meant it cost heaps to fix from the dealer. (Wasn't much of a handy man at the time) I got the car at 16 years old, so I liked to listen to my music a little too loud, and within 6 months, both my tweeters went out, along with the front driver and passenger speakers. While it has 4WD, it's not a mud buggy. It sits a bit low to the ground, so some rough terrain might leave you with a damaged undercarriage if you're not careful.
