2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee -
This is the perfect vehicle for me. I have always wanted a Jeep. And although my dream is a Wrangler, this was a great first car. I have had a few minor issues with this vehicle, but nothing uncommon for an older used vehicle. My favorite thing about my vehicle is the exhaust sound, the radio, and its size. I dislike the fact that I have had to have it in the garage three times in the past year. It has performed very well for a used vehicle, though, and even with knowing the slight issues I have had with it I would still buy it all over again.
Story
My most memorable story I have had while using this vehicle is driving it to the beach last summer, which was approximately 12 hours away.
Pros
The price that I bought this vehicle at was great. I got a wonderful deal. I like the sound of it, the power when getting up the mountain, and the overall look/size of this Jeep. It is not too big but has enough room for other passengers or any other cargo I am hauling. The radio is perfect.
Cons
The worst part about this vehicle is how many times I have had to have it in the shop. Although they are common used car problems, it has become a little frustrating. I also do not really appreciate that the mpg is so low. I was expecting this vehicle to have a decent mpg since it isn't huge, but it honestly gets about the same as my family's Chevy Tahoe.
2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Go anywhere!
I have loved every Jeep that I have owned, but am blown away by my Grand Cherokee. I live in a remote location at the top of a mountain in the Northeast with harsh winters. Without this vehicle, I would not have the ability to get home in rough conditions. I have given rides up the mountain to Subaru and Ford owners. Full time four wheel drive v8...can't be beaten if you need to get where you're going and where you're going is harsh.
Story
My mountain road in winter was a sheet of packed down ice. No problem getting up the hill. And then, no problem backing down it to pick up my partner who was stuck at the bottom in his Ford F150.
Pros
This vehicle has a large amount of room inside, particularly with the back seats down. Lawn furniture, lumber, bags of soil and mulch, generators, water heaters....you name it, I've fit it in. The trim and features on this are great for the year. Heated leather seats, nice displays, roomy and comfortable.
Cons
Really, the only negative that I have run into so far, as with all Jeeps, is gas mileage. It is sometimes daunting to get a $55.00 fill-up two times per week, if my week requires driving a lot. I set the "Miles to Empty" on the display and watch it go down fast.
