It is a fun car to drive. It has more zip than you'd expect and handles pretty well. It isn't the smoothest ride, but I've had worse. It wasn't particularly long lasting. There was a factory defect on the clutch, which did damage to the transmission. It became an unreliable vehicle. It couldn't be driven long distances without being unable to restart for a period of time. The seals around the windows came loose, allowing moisture to seep in. The windshield wipers broke, and the mechanism for switching between fans and defrosting broke.
Story
Driving between Bremerton, WA, where I grew up, and Bellingham, WA, where I went to college. It was a fun drive, particularly the second half of the drive through the Chuckanut Hills.
Pros
Good actual driving experience. Good stock sound system.
Cons
Important features started falling apart quickly. Had several engine problems. Not a reliable or trustworthy vehicle.

Overall, I really liked this car. The hatchback feature was really nice. But the front trim thing was a pain, it kept scraping on stuff and falling off. Eventually, a boyfriend tried to put it back on again, and it just fell off. I told him to just leave it off. I started having problems with that soon after I bought the car. I bought it brand new. It was still under warranty, but they said that it looked like I had hit something, so it wasn't covered. I said, I only hit something because the stupid price was way too low. I kinda wished I had bought the regular sedan, not the hatchback, but I liked having the hatchback when I was moving something big, like my grandmas TV. Without that piece, which was just decorative anyway, it looked better and I didn't have any more problems. There w... (more)
Pros
It was small but didn't feel cramped It was reliable, I was never stranded because it broke down (in 7 years) Decent gas mileage (27 mpg average) The hatchback feature was nice It had 4 doors It had storage in between the front seats. It crumpled in a wreck, which I guess protected me. It was affordable for me at the time I bought it.
Cons
The front end was too low with the decorative piece Electrical glitch Expensive tires The remote stopped working to lock/unlock the car after only a few years. And you couldn't pop the trunk by remote because it was a hatchback. It crumpled in a wreck, so the car was totaled even though the accident wasn't that bad. It was an inexpensive car, so wasn't worth the insurance company repairing. Luckily, I had good insurance on it.
