2012 Mazda Mazda3 - Great ride… questionable construction
My car was great for the first few weeks. I did a lot of research of vehicles in my price range, and settled on the 2012 Mazda 3 Hatchback. Gas mileage is good, handling is tight, and you always feel in control (harkening back to Mazda's racing roots). And for being a small car, it could carry a lot of cargo.
Story
The interstate was closed and I got detoured through rural Louisiana. Luckily, I wasn't in a hurry, and I was able to enjoy the scenery in traffic.
Pros
Gas mileage is great. The dash computer can keep track of short-term and long term gas mileage. The driver's seat is fairly cozy and comfortable. The steering wheel controls are intuitive and easy to figure.
Cons
Over time, I have found that the construction of the vehicle may be second rate. I should say that I bought my vehicle used, and it may have been in an accident before I owned it. My first issue was when I was traveling in Colorado. I was descending into the Denver area from the mountains to the West when I hit a small piece of rubber in the road. I hit this at interstate speed and my passenger side curtain airbag deployed. I am currently involved in a warranty fight. I also broke my key fob recently, and I had to manually use my key to unlock my doors. Unfortunately, my key didn't work, b... (more)
2013 Mazda Mazda3 - Gets me from point A to B
This is the first Mazda I've owned. My first impression of the car was that it is cute and compact. That's exactly what I was going for. It rides smooth, and has a nice little zip to it. It get me where I need to be, and the gas mileage is decent. It hold about 13 gallons. On average I get somewhere between 23-30 mpg. The size of this car is nice. It's small, but not too small. If anyone sits in the back is can be a little cramp, but it's not too bad. The car also comes with a full size spare tire, which might not be important to some people, but I've driven on one of those little doughnut tires before and its a pain.
I'll be blunt. This car is cheaply made. You get what you pay for. Many bits have worn down and broken even though it's barely 4 years old. One of my cruise control butt... (more)
Story
I once crammed myself and four other people into the car and drove ten hours to Atlanta. As I stated before, it can be cramped in the back, but no one lost any legs.
Pros
Good size, full-size spare tire
Cons
Cheaply made

2011 Mazda Mazdaspeed3 - Diamond Mazda Baton Rouge
When I asked the dealer about the right car for my son he knew exactly what kind of car to get me. He had recently gotten a used mazdaspeed3 in and he was saving it for the right person. The best part was that it was a standard 6 speed and I had always wanted my son to learn what car to drive. 5/5 great dealer.
2012 Mazda Mazda2 - Paretti Mazda Metairie
The process of buying a car was quick and painless. There wasn't too much haggling over price. The only car they had in stock in the color I want had tons of bells and whistles that I wasn't hoping for, but that they threw in for free. Service has been excellent the few times that I've needed to bring it in while under warranty.
