Reliable and safe
The car got excellent gas mileage and was comfortable to drive. Since they are so ubiquitous on the market, I often had difficulty finding my car in a parking lot at times! I always felt like it was safe, which was very important to me since I often used it to transport my children. It was not the most aesthetically interesting car, and the standard sound system left a lot to be desired. It could sometimes be difficult to maneuver in small spaces, and so I wouldn't recommend it for a city vehicle, and it had trouble on rural roads occasionally. The interior of the car deteriorated somewhat quickly no matter how much that I tried to keep up with it, and I had to repair the headliner more than once. It was not the most stylish vehicle either and I never felt like it quite reflected my personality in any way. Overall though, it never broke down on me or left me stranded and the few things that I had to repair I was easily able to do myself without having to take it to a shop and pay exorbitantly to get it back on the road. I was able to sell it for more than I paid for it, and it is still running strong for the person who bought it from me. I would absolutely consider purchasing another one in the future if the price was right at the time.

Room for improvement.
My car has some nice qualities. First, the gas mileage is great, especially driving on the highway. One of my main complaints is the key component. Even thought the key is convenient (it uses a push button ignition), the keys are not. If you lose them, they are very expensive to replace. First, you have to pay $100 plus, not including computer programming that can increase your cost to over $300 dollars.
Even though the Nissan is a smooth drive and handles well on the road, I was not satisfied. The Engine light came on. I took it to the dealer, where I had to pay $125 for the diagnostics test. Upon review, I got the results. $400+ to fix the car. Supposedly, it was a fuel sensor but upon changing my gas to another brand, the light went off.
When I bought the vehicle, I was shown a Ford Model (which I cannot remember but it was similar to my Nissan). I have always liked American made cars but I made an exception with the Nissan. Even though I am satisfied with my purchase, if I had a time machine, I would go back and would have chosen the Ford.

The atmosphere was nice, and the dealer was very courteous and made sure my questions were answered. The manager gave me the red carpet treatment trying to access my needs for my business. I was shown three vehicles but decided to take the Nissan Altima. Totally satisfied with the purchase.
