The Pontiac Grand am is a long lasting and reliable car. I purchased it back in 2004, and it has not broken down once in 10 years. There has never been one major breakdown of any part on the car. In addition, I do not even put forth a great deal of maintenance on the car, it just stays tough. The most I do is get tune ups and oil changes for the car, and change the battery when needed. It is very reliable.
Story
I've had the car for 10 years. In general, without getting personal, I've met a number of girlfriends in the car.
Pros
#1: The reliability of the vehicle. It always starts up and never breaks down. #2: The smoothness of the ride, it is very quiet and doesn't let in a lot of outside noise. #3: It is very low maintenance. I have not had anything on the car break that required a major amount of money to get fixed. It is not a money drain. #4: It's a good looking car, as well. It looks like a luxury sedan at first glance. Or, at least it did before it got 10 years of age on it.
Cons
#1: The tires. While the car doesn't need much maintenance, for some reason, the tires are always wearing out quickly. #2: The Windows. While very minor, the motors on the window malfunctioned and needed to be propped up until they got fixed. #3: The car is old, now. It's not exactly a "Chick Magnet" if you would. #4: The car doesn't have the fancy new amenities you'd find in a 2014 vehicle. It just has a CD player. I remember when that was cool, LOL!

I really enjoyed the vehicle, and it was one of my favorites before it finally gave out after years of service. It was a very reliable car, and parts for it were cheap. Additionally, it has very good MPG for being so dated. While there were little issues here and there (such as with the door handles falling apart), there were no major issues for years. What I disliked is that a majority of the issues were cooling-related. Either the engine was overheating or the cooling fans gave out or the vehicle's AC compressor went out. Other than the heating issues, it ran beautifully.
Story
I got my bumper fixed for free when someone rear-ended my already dented bumper. They thought it was their fault it got dented, and offered to fix it. I didn't refuse. It was pretty nice, although we didn't call the police or file anything with insurance.
Pros
My favorite features were absolutely the strength of the engine, the reliability of the vehicle, and the relatively high MPG for the year of the vehicle. Features wise there wasn't much; top of the line was considered power windows and anti-lock brakes back then.
Cons
Cooling issues everywhere. Every time I had to repair the car it was cooling related. Hoses cracking, compressors failing, Freon leaking, fans giving out. On the bright side, these often didn't cause the car to become unusable.

It was the best experience I ever had at a dealership. They took care of us. They were also very informative about their cars, and wanted to make sure that we chose an ideal car at an ideal price.
