It was great until the engine blew.
My 2005 Scion Tc has been a trooper. It has been my daily driver, with 60+ miles per day, for the last four years. It handles well; the steering is easy to manage. It is decent on gas, taking me typically less than $20 to fill up my tank, which lasts about three-four days. It looks sharp and (most importantly) gets me where I need to be without too much trouble. The sun roof/all glass roof is a great asset. The maintenance on it is pretty cheap, and parts tend to be readily available for it. The only things I've disliked about it are as follows: the engine blew, even with consistent oil changes (in an unspectacular fashion) due to a manufacturer defect that was not covered under warranty because my car was one model year older than what they covered...even though the same engine was used for the newer models as well. Confused about that? Yeah, me too. The weather stripping on the windows has completely deteriorated. I've had to replace the charcoal canister. All together, I feel like it is a very reliable vehicle, and I would recommend a scion to any friend that asked.

Great mechanically, junk body.
I like that the car runs well and I have rarely had mechanical issues with it. I don't like that the body of the car is fragile, plastic and falls apart.

I didn't have to haggle with anyone over the price. I didn't have to pay a lot of crazy dealership fees. They had a very generous and cheap warranty for the car. All those things made this a very easy process.
