St. George, UT Driving Tips
This town used to be a huge Marti Gras town. They had a huge police force. Now, people don't celebrate here at all and just go to Vegas instead. But the police force is still overwhelmingly large and severely underfunded. They will pull you over for just about any minor violation. Stay safe out there.
St. George, UT Buying Tips
If you're finalizing the process of buying a used car, make sure you take it to a mechanic to do a quick check before you actually purchase it.
Favorite driving memory
I was a "dirtbag" for a few years in the red rock deserts on Southern Utah. Meaning I would drive around the backcountry in this car, and either sleep in it or on the ground outside of it. It has such small clearance and is definitely not very practical to take it out on dirt roads, but it worked just fine for me. It got me out to all the best rock climbing crags and mountain bike trailheads deep into the desert. Driving this spry little car over rocky roads always felt like an adventure. What if a boulder sliced through my transmission box? What if I got stranded out in the middle of nowhere? I didn't care. I just wanted an adventure. And my car took me on so many.
Favorite road
Straight up the mesa to the old airport. It's crazy how steep it is. You're literally driving right up an old mesa covered in volcanic rock and red dirt. Once you get to the top, you can park your car right on the edge and look out for miles and miles into the vast desert.
