I bought this car because it sits up high, came in standard, and has a full sized spare tire. I was replacing a 1987 Volvo 240 wagon, which was basically a glass box. Not sexy, but very good visibility. This car was the closest I could come to that, and I got AWD. This is not a pretty car, but it has been fairly reliable. I believe I have replaced every sensor that came with the vehicle, but it has been down more than two days only once. I really like the AWD, it has gotten me home, up my hill, through poorly plowed roads more than once.
Story
This was my first brand new car. I wasn't used to dealing with a fob, so I left it on my dresser, and I've always used the key. This is also my first car where I locked the door, closed it, and the car beeped. I worked at a place that had geese and wild turkeys wandering on the grounds. They did not get along. The first night I drove this car to work, I parked, locked the door, closed it, and ... (more)
Pros
All Wheel Drive. Full size spare tire. Great visibility from the driver's seat. Small enough to fit in compact parking. Cargo space is large enough to fit most things I haul.
Cons
No clutch feel (standard shift) in this year/model. Anti-lock breaks are really, really loud and grinding. Poor gas mileage. I may have replaced every sensor in this car. No locking gas cap. Not the best gas mileage.

2015 Subaru Forester - Great small SUV.

When I first started driving the car it was hard to get used to the continuous variable transmissions. I was so used to driving vehicles with regular automatic transmissions that I felt that something was wrong with it. After knowing this was normal I actually like it better, you don't feel those shifts in gears and everything feels so smooth. The engine is powerful as well, it is able to take off very fast without hesitation.
Story
I went to a tag sale locally and found something I wanted to buy. I purchased it but then go nervous it wouldn't fit into the Forester. I started putting seats down and the nightstand fit perfectly. I thought I was going to have to call my dad to come get it with his truck but I have found the back is roomy and able to fit a lot more things then I have expected.
Pros
It gets good gas mileage for an SUV and is even better then the car I had previously. It runs smoothly and has low maintenance, little things have had to be fixed but nothing major overall. I love the leather seats, they are so comfy and helps me feel good after a long car ride. The back seat is spacious and there is plenty of leg room.
Cons
The passengers in the back seat complain about getting car sick. I am not sure if it is the shape of the car but everyone that sits back there feels a little sick after driving for a longer period of time.

The staff was nice and not pushy at all. They were very helpful in finding exactly what I was looking for at the right price. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a Subaru in the Hartford area. Subaru makes great vehicles and the people at Schaller know how to sell them. My family and I have had several pleasant buying experiences there.
