Subaru Outback Owner Ratings & Reviews

2011 Subaru Outback - Great car for kids and dogs
The Subaru Outback is a great car for just about anyone. We have twin toddlers and a dog we take everywhere. It is the perfect car for my family of four and our 4 legged friend. It has a smooth ride, handles well and is great in the winter.
The gas mileage is pretty good. On average it gets about 24 miles to the gallon.
The car has spacious leg room in both the front and the back, and is comfortable on long trips.
The heat, air conditioning and heated seats all work really well and are reliable.
The level hatchback is great for all types of things. Whether I am loading groceries, transporting the dog, or even changing a diaper in the middle of nowhere the hatchback makes all of them easy as can be.
Story
We took the car to the beach and drove it on the sand right up to the ocean. Works great in all types of conditions
Pros
The car handles great. It is attractive and has a lot of room.
Cons
The interior of the car is attractive, but does have one drawback. The seats stain very easily. Even water will stain the interior. The only way to remove the stains is to have the car professionally detailed. There is a flaw in the rear window that allows rain water in during heavy storms.
2002 Subaru Outback - good year round vehicle. Has AWD. Well known car that can get over 200k miles.
The outback is a great car because of its many useful features.
It has plenty of cargo space and is a hatchback so loading and unloading large items is easier than a sedan trunk. The vehicle has AWD which is good for winter/snow driving. It also has heated seats in the front and the engine warms up in cold weather in just a few minutes of driving. Many Subaru's go well over 200k miles in their lifetime so there is a high probability of owning this car without serious problems for many miles. It has power seats and a tape/radio player. Can seat 2 in the front and 3 on the back. The engine isn't large so it gets good gas mileage, but it is also powerful enough for the car, so that passing on the highway isn't a struggle. The paint and trim has stayed in good condition over the life... (more)
Pros
AWD. Heated seats. Good gas mileage. High life expectancy. Smaller but powerful engine. Cargo space. Comfortable seats. Quick heating engine for winter. Smooth ride.
Cons
Station wagon isn't most appealing body style. AWD requires proper maintenance of tires and ensuring all tires are inflated properly and of equal size and type.
