Subaru Legacy Owner Ratings & Reviews

2005 Subaru Legacy - 2005 Subaru Legacy - needs improvement
I love my car. IÕve owned it for 11 years, and I was the second owner. IÕve put about 85,000 miles on it in the time IÕve owned it. While I do love my car, it has mechanical issues that are hard to ignore. In the time IÕve had it, IÕve gone through three turbo replacements and one engine replacement. The car goes through oil extremely fast, even with regular maintenance on it at the local Subaru dealer. While it has its issues, IÕve owned it for a long time and grown attached to it. It is a fun car to drive; it handles very well in wet weather and in winter conditions. I would still recommend the vehicle to a friend but warn them to keep a careful eye and ear out for any new sounds/smells/lights on the dash, so they can catch issues before the issues become larger problems.
Story
Because IÕve owned this car for so long, IÕve had very memorable times in it. IÕve taken it camping and on many road trips. It is fun and fast to drive on road trips and comfortable to sit in. One particular road trip we went on, we stopped at multiple places with waterfalls, hiking trails, lakes and glaciers along the way. The weather was amazing, and I will never forget that day.
Pros
Interior is a beautiful black leather. It came with a six-CD changer, which was a very hot item around the time I bought it. The car has a sunroof and moonroof, tinted windows, and all the standard safety features. The car has a turbo, and I have a love/hate relationship with the turbo. The turbo makes the car very fun to drive, but this model year had major issues with the turbo failing.
Cons
The turbo and engine problems are the biggest negative with this car. ItÕs been an expensive vehicle to own. Everything else about this car is wonderful.
2015 Subaru Legacy - The best car to have, powerful and sleekly beautiful.
This is the best I own. I loved Subaru since I was young an swore to one day own one. No comparison so far.
Story
Great in almost every way. Slightly anemic in the mountains. It's a great car if you live in places where there's lot of snow and ice, which was one of my primary reasons for getting an AWD car. The fuel economy suffers from the all wheel drive, but that's to be expected, and frankly I can't complain since it still beats the heck out of any SUV or truck in gas mileage. This last year I've gott... (more)
Pros
The Legacy sports one of the best all-wheel drive systems in the automotive world. While most all-wheel drive vehicles tend to suffer a loss of efficiency, the Legacy bucks that trend. When equipped with the four-cylinder engine, the sedan has a fuel economy rating of 36 mpg on the highway and about 26 mpg in the city. The front and rear passengers will have enough room to remain comfy on long journeys. When not being used, the rear seats can be folded down to provide extra cargo room.
Cons
All versions of the 2015 Legacy come equipped with a continuous variable transmission. Drivers who are used to driving with a stick shift may prefer another vehicle. Car shoppers who are seeking a high-performance sports sedan may find the Legacy to be a tad bit too tame. While the V-6 model does deliver a strong performance on the road, there are more exciting sedans on the market. The majority of onlookers will consider the Legacy to be a very attractive sedan. However, the Legacy may not have the wow factor that some car buyers are seeking.

2011 Subaru B9 Tribeca - Mendenhall Auto Center Juneau
Great focus on the customer. I have had issues with the car since I bought it (used) but they have always tried to help me out. They are patient with me, they want me to be satisfied and I am just thrilled they are so close.
2010 Subaru Forester -
I wouldn't say they were great. We are very limited here in Juneau with our options for buying everything, not only cars. They are overall, okay, not bad, but if I had other options I likely wouldn't return to them again.
