1999 Subaru Outback - Subaru sucks.
Nothing about owning this car has been easy. It's uncomfortable to sit in (the seats are rock hard), the shocks don't absorb much at all and it rusts like crazy. Holes developed in the gas tank and I was told that I could try to patch it or else junk the car because it's so much work to fix a Subaru that it wouldn't be worth it to me. I got it patched and it started leaking again almost immediately so then I had to patch it again. It's junk for reasons beside this - it creaks and groans and rattles. The rear hatch is impossible to open so I have to put anything I want back there in over the rear seats and then pull it out again the same way. Actual driving is jerky and temperamental. The battery drains super fast, even after replacing it with a new one so I have to get jumped all the t... (more)
Story
I have none. Unless it's fun to find a flat tire or constantly get jumped by a kind passer by in the middle of winter.
Pros
Working A/C. Gets me from point A to point B (most of the time).
Cons
Holes in gas tank. Jerky driving. Uncomfortable to sit in. Shocks don't absorb well. Hatch stuck shut. Rattles. Groans. Shudders. Creaks. Rust. Battery drain. Won't start.
2006 Subaru Outback - Reliable winter vehicle
I have had my 2006 Subaru outback for four years. In that time, I've only had to complete one minor repair (a sensor valve went out, cost about $145) to fix. The car isn't very sexy, but it gets good gas mileage (about 28mph on the highway) and performs well in the snow. It's comfortable to drive (I'm 6'2" tall, 230 pounds) long distances and has good visibility (no major blind spots).
Story
One time I was driving it in the Catskills and came across another Subaru Outback in the ditch. The driver wasn't paying attention and drove off the road. We hooked our hitches together and I pulled them out. Cars were basically identical (same color, champagne).
Pros
Best thing about the Subaru is the AWD. It grips well in rain, snow and ice conditions. Has great cargo space (with back seats up or down). It's a basic car, gets you were you going, holds a lot of stuff, and handles well on the road.
Cons
The Outback is a little under powered (at least the four-liter version). It struggles going up mountains but has no problem doing the speed limit (just don't try and pass someone going 80mph uphill). The styling is pretty unattractive.

2016 Subaru Crosstrek - Subaru Of Wantagh
They had the car that I wanted. They had the top of the line Subaru crosstrek in black with a leatherette interior. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and was able to help me make my decision between the Impreza and the crosstrek. The salesperson was a career salesman he had sold for over 20 years and was able to answer every question that I asked about the vehicle.
2008 Subaru Impreza - West Herr Subaru Orchard Park
Purchased a 2008 Subaru Impreza from Marc Mangione at West Herr Subaru in June 2013. I highly recommend him and his team! I never once felt uncomfortable with our decision and they worked with me and my husband to get payments we were comfortable with. I would send any of my friends looking to purchase a car there!
