I got this vehicle because I wanted SUV size without a huge price tag. It seemed to have the right size and the price was under $30K which was perfect. I really liked all the features available you could get added on, especially the eyesight function. I also liked how easy it drove.
Story
We just took a great camping trip to Kings Canyon. Everything fit great!
Pros
Eyesight function is really great. You could go on a big road trip and not touch a pedal. It is also great for being stuck in traffic. I would have to say the price is a big upside, too. Good quality on the build without paying through the roof.
Cons
They bang you over the head with features when you get the deluxe. You have to get both full packages and cant just choose one.

I bought the vehicle when it had nearly 150,000 miles. It was in great shape considering the mileage and number of years it was. I have always been interested in Subaru cars, but never owned one. I actually sold a much newer vehicle to purchase this car. I like the fact that it is very practical. It's a wagon and it has plenty of cargo room. I also don't pay the mpg penalty for lugging around a much larger vehicle. It is a very sturdy car, 15 years on and there are very little squeaks and rattles. Also, everything on the car still works: Sunroofs, heated seats, radio, HVAC controls, lights, it all still works!
Pros
The quality, the dependability. I always know when I get in it, it's going to start right up and take me wherever I need to go. The ride is smooth and for being a 1999, it's very quiet inside at speed! I was most surprised by that fact.
Cons
The age. I've had to do repairs to get it in better condition, but on the flipside it's an easy car to work on. It's a little on the slow side, I wish it was a bit quicker.
