While I really like my car, I have mixed feelings about it. I like that it's AWD so that I don't have to worry about getting to trail heads or through snow when I'm going up to Tahoe. It seems like a solid car, though I won't know until I've put more miles on it. At the same time, things like the fuel economy and air conditioning seem to be getting worse in time. Also, as my family grows, I feel like the car is teeny tiny. It doesn't have much pick up and go, so when I have to accelerate quickly, it's really loud.
Story
It has been fun to drive up to Tahoe from home in the winter. It's usually slow moving, but the car is comfortable and does well in the snow.
Pros
It has great off-road capabilities and being AWD is nice. The roof rails are versatile. The car feels heavy and safe.
Cons
Not much leg room for people in the back seat. Not much storage room if you have a family. The car accelerates really slowly and loudly. Then on the reverse, it feels like I have to slam on my brakes to stop. It also doesn't get anywhere near the fuel economy as I thought it would nor is the fuel economy estimator in the car accurate. The air conditioning is not very great.

The Subaru Outback is an extremely practical car. This is both a pro and a con. If you do a lot of driving, especially in harsh weather conditions, it would be hard to find a better car. It is comfortable, convenient, good gas mileage, reliable and great handling. However, it is not the sexiest car on the road, and that is something I knew when I purchased it. It came with a terrible paint job, in which I'm still expecting a recall for. They nailed the small features. Dog person. They created a dog fence that bolts into the car. All and all if you're looking for a safe practical car that you plan on driving in all weather conditions, then this is the car for you.
Story
The day I bought it, my wife, dog, and I took a road trip in it. It was in December. She was addressing Xmas cards in the car and dropped the sharpie on the seat. Sharpie stain. Then my dog crawled up from the back seat and crushed my full Starbucks coffee. Spilled coffee all over the seats. Day one of a brand new car, both front seats had huge stains.
Pros
Great gas mileage. Easy in and out. Great handling in wet and icy conditions. Has most of the up-to-date modern conveniences of a smart car.
Cons
Not the nicest car on the road. Can't tow heavy trailer loads. Terrible paint job.

Everyone was so warm and helpful, it was easy feeling welcomed and not overwhelmed. They worked very hard to find the specific car/color I wanted.
