Subaru Tribeca Owner Ratings & Reviews

2011 Subaru Tribeca - I enjoy my Subaru
I was on the fence about buying a Subaru. I had an Explorer for many years, and it was so dependable that I was nervous to move to something else. Everyone was recommending the Subaru so I gave it a shot. I have never regretted it for a minute. I love it!! It has never given me any trouble and has been just as reliable as my Explorer. It is an all-wheel drive but takes me everywhere I need to go in the winter, even in the deepest snows we encounter(usually around 12"). I hope to have this one for along time but would definitely buy another one.
Story
After purchasing my car, I had to get my son to a practice during a bad winter storm. We reached the bottom of hill that we had to climb and both made a comment about holding our breath that we make it to the top. My son reminded me that I no longer had a four-wheel drive vehicle. I acknowledged that and begin the climb. When we reached the top, my son said "Wow, mom. This thing didn't eve... (more)
Pros
I love the dependability of this care. It travels great in adverse conditions whether it is snow, rain, or sleet. We experience all of those, and it has never let me down. The handling is great, tighter that my previous vehicle, which took a little getting used to but I love it. The interior is nice and comfortable and the extra features, like a backup camera and third-row seating, have proved invaluable. It is great.
Cons
If there is one con to this vehicle, it would be the inferior trim. The plastic pieces that surround the seats have came off so many times that it has become a bit frustrating. I have found that they cannot handle the rough and tumble lifestyle of boys.
2007 Subaru Tribeca - Easy to drive
When I was looking for a new to me vehicle, I wanted an all-wheel drive for better handling during winter driving, as we often have a lot of snow and slick roads for 3 to 4 months each year. We found this Subaru Tribeca on a local lot as a trade in, and when we test drove it, it handled well on the road. We liked its ability to seat 7 people if needed, and that for just 5 people, the back seat could fold down to have more room for luggage.
Story
Last winter we had a lot of snow and very icy roads! I learned that even an all-wheel drive vehicle can spin a cookie on ice!
Pros
This car gets decent gas mileage. Most of the time we run about 22-23 mpg on fairly flat terrain. I love that it can seat 7 people for when we take our grandkids with us, and that for long trips with less people, we can fold that back seat down to accommodate all of our luggage. It has plenty of leg room in the front seats which is helpful for my tall husband.
Cons
It took me a while to get used to the different feeling of driving an all-wheel drive vehicle. It grabs the road differently and is a little rougher of a ride on bumpy roads. There seems to be a hesitation in automatic shifting around 35 mph that took me a bit to get used to as well.
2006 Subaru Tribeca - Best all-around vehicle.
My experience with this vehicle has been amazing. It is a smooth ride, comfortable and safe. This limited model has everything I need and more, including three rows of seating, DVD player, sound system, great safety features, a great deal of storage space, heated seats and more. It is a large vehicle that is well suited for harsh winters, moving, camping and more. I live in Michigan where this model, along with other Subarus, are highly sought.
Story
I used the vehicle for a camping trip with friends, and it was a great way to fit my friends and gear inside.
Pros
AWD is great for driving in poor weather conditions. Airbags on the side and in front of you make it incredibly safe. Handles nicely. A very smooth ride. Heated seats, separate heat/air controls for passengers, room for seven adults with the ability to flatten both rows, DVD player, AUX port, sun roof, and a six-CD changer.
Cons
MPG is about what you would expect for this size car with AWD. It is not good as a commuter car. Third row of seats has little leg room and is quite uncomfortable.
