I was on the fence about buying a Subaru. I had an Explorer for many years, and it was so dependable that I was nervous to move to something else. Everyone was recommending the Subaru so I gave it a shot. I have never regretted it for a minute. I love it!! It has never given me any trouble and has been just as reliable as my Explorer. It is an all-wheel drive but takes me everywhere I need to go in the winter, even in the deepest snows we encounter(usually around 12"). I hope to have this one for along time but would definitely buy another one.
Story
After purchasing my car, I had to get my son to a practice during a bad winter storm. We reached the bottom of hill that we had to climb and both made a comment about holding our breath that we make it to the top. My son reminded me that I no longer had a four-wheel drive vehicle. I acknowledged that and begin the climb. When we reached the top, my son said "Wow, mom. This thing didn't eve... (more)
Pros
I love the dependability of this care. It travels great in adverse conditions whether it is snow, rain, or sleet. We experience all of those, and it has never let me down. The handling is great, tighter that my previous vehicle, which took a little getting used to but I love it. The interior is nice and comfortable and the extra features, like a backup camera and third-row seating, have proved invaluable. It is great.
Cons
If there is one con to this vehicle, it would be the inferior trim. The plastic pieces that surround the seats have came off so many times that it has become a bit frustrating. I have found that they cannot handle the rough and tumble lifestyle of boys.

I like the size of the vehicle. It is more space than my family currently needs. Would be great for a family with more than one child. The overall look of the car and the interior are great. Issues with the car are mechanical. Car handles well in all conditions, including snow and rain. Smooth handling going down the road.
Story
Transporting three girls from my daughter's Girl Scout Troop to Corning Museum of Glass. The vehicle allowed for them to have space and not be on top of each other while making the hour-long drive.
Pros
The car has ample leg room in the back and can easily sit three people. The interior is very nice. It has a great engine. The seats fold down and allow for space for moving and transporting furniture or boxes.
Cons
Engine layout makes it difficult for you to work on the vehicle yourself. An example is you have to remove many components to change out a head light. Components such as air ducts on passenger side and battery on drivers side.

The car's style is great, conservative yet quite appealing. The interior is roomy and comfortable especially for the passengers, it's also a quit ride compared to my previous cars. Quite easy to have a conversation with out having to raise your voice. Trunk space is large and it even came with a rubber mat to protect the carpet. So far it's been quite reliable hasn't spent a single day in the shop. The cars handling and acceleration are top notch for it's size. However with the performance comes a cost and that's the MPG, it doesn't get great mileage even on cruise control. Overall though I've been quite pleased with the vehicle and would definitely recommend it.
Pros
Great in the snow and rain. Reliable and no mechanical problems. Powerful engine.
Cons
Bad blind spot on the passenger sides rear window. Bad fuel economy. Tires are a bit spendy.
