My 2000 Toyota Camry LE was totaled when I was rear-ended by an SUV three years ago. I was injured, but I am certain it would have been worse had I not been driving the Camry. I had the opportunity to buy a brand new car of a different make and model for the same price as the used Camry. I chose the Camry because I love the styling. It looks like a much more expensive car. I don’t like the design of every model year. Sometimes they tweak it to look more muscular and sometimes to look more like a race car. I like the standard, elegant sedan look that the 2011 model year provides. I appreciate the features such as power seats, windows and mirrors, the easily visible center console, the roominess of the interior. The gas mileage is excellent. I get around 25 miles to the gallon driving ar... (more)
Story
I love driving my Camry to Malibu Bluffs Park, over looking the Pacific Ocean. The city lights are dimmer here and the drive isn't too far, so this is a great place to view meteor showers. I don't have a moon roof, but can see everything out of the windows of my Camry. Beautiful.
Pros
Very roomy interior. Nice styling -- looks like a more expensive sedan. Comfortable seating for four. Easily visible console. Trunk that easily fits a week's worth of luggage for people. Great gas mileage. Easy to drive. Power windows and mirrors (and seats). Good price point.
Cons
I bought used, just out of lease. I didn't get a second key and dealer wanted to charge me $250 for a second one. Wish keys weren't so expensive. None of my electrical ports work. This doesn't bother me, but my younger friends who want to recharge their devices are upset about this. The center storage makes an odd creaking/cracking sound when I put my elbow on it. I think it is the material underneath that it is made of. The paint on both of the front and rear bumpers seems to be flaking off. Don't know if the car was in a prior accident and repainted or it is just poor quality on the fact... (more)

The 2.4L Camry is a mid-sized car which feels like a mid-sized car inside, parks like a mid-size car outside, and sips gas like a compact... and drives with the slushy feel, vague steering, handling, and turning circle of a much larger car. The driver's seat is extremely uncomfortable. Some of the interior luxury features like heated seats are nice. The MPG computer over-states the gas mileage by a bit, but it still does very well for such a large car.
Story
This car was instrumental in getting me down to San Diego. It was a nice comfortable drive because of this car.
Pros
comfortable on the highway. ALSO the steering is VERY light. If you don't want that I'd try the SE model or a whole different car. The interior is very nice. It has a lot of soft touch materials and the only problem I've had is a tiny part of the ceiling coming detached on the border of the back window. The inside is plain, big, and bland but the quality of it is pretty much unbeatable. The exterior styling is what my mom calls "an old man's car" and I kind of have to agree, but nothing has fallen off yet and the only problems have been some tiny rust spots on the front end (the car is mos... Cons
Needs a better driver's seat. Toyota should offer some extended repair program on this car. After 8 years, we're planning to sell ours for parts. The 2.4L appears to have a major design flaw which causes complete engine failure in many of these cars. Some think it's a myth, you won't if it happens to you. Toyota seems to feel that if it is out of warranty it's not their fault. Fair enough, but don't buy one thinking it has a lot of life left in it. $7,500 repair on a $6,500 car means it is totaled. Toyota dealers are very poor too, slow, arrogant, and deny problems exist. Before buying one... (more)

The staff was friendly, no nonsense, and quick. I knew the car I wanted to get before I went in, and I knew they had it. Without any prompting from me, they lowered the price below what I was willing to pay, and that was great. The paper process was also amazingly quick. That can take up to two hours, but we were all done and I was on the road in my new car in about 45 minutes.

The dealer was so great because they were very friendly and patient and showed us the ins and out of the car. They even gave us a ride in the cars and tell us how great they are.
