This has been a great little commuter car for me. It has wonderful gas mileage, so it is the car of choice on long trips. The car is also easy to drive and maneuver.
Story
My mother and I once went to Ikea when I was about six months pregnant, and we bought a lot of stuff, including two memory foam pillow tops to add to existing mattresses. I was able to drop the back seats down and fit everything into the car!
Pros
The things I really like about it is that it gets good gas mileage, about 32 mpg freeway, and 28 mpg city. The size is about right: it isn't too tiny, but can get in and out of moving traffic easily. It is nimble and maneuvers very nicely, and can do a U-turn when you need it or can squeeze into a small parking spot. I also find the seats to be very comfortable, which is difficult for me since I fell and fractured a vertebra. The trunk holds a lot, much more than my old SUV did.
Cons
The front passenger air bags are currently under recall, so everyone has to sit in the back seat. I have a small child, and putting a car seat in the back really cuts into your visibility in such a small sedan car. My particular car is white, and it grows algae under the mirrors, around the gas tank door, and around any decal. I also have a bit of lichen growing on the roof! None of this comes off in a soft touch car wash.

The 2001 Toyota Corolla is one of most dependable cars I have owned. Living in the Seattle area with so many people and vehicles means small parking spaces. The Corolla turns and fits into the smallest of spaces, making parking a dream. As of 2018, I have had no major repairs. I've had to make just the normal oil changing maintenance and the brake pads. It starts right up, even in the coldest of days.
Story
Not really a driving or funny story but definitely memorable...a package of hamburger had fallen out of a grocery bag and landed under the seat. Days later, on a hot summer day, the smell was horrible, and that's when I found the "science project." It took hours of enzyme cleaner and a couple months to finally remove the smell.
Pros
I love how easy it is to park in small spaces. Heater is amazingly fast on winter days. Haven't had any engine or transmission problems, even though it has almost 200,000 miles.
Cons
There is a light on the rearview mirror that you can accidentally activate, but it's not that bright. It's easy to have it be left on, which drains the battery. Defrost seems to take a bit to work, and there is no windshield wiper on the back window.
