This is a great vehicle and the second highlander that we have purchased. I would probably purchase another one but will have to look in to the mechanics a little more. We have enjoyed the amount of space that it has and knowing that it is going to keep running. I love that this car has a metal "belt" so there is no need to replace the timing belt. It has a horrible 3rd row seat that there is no way to get to but to climb over the seat. I hope that this has been fixed in newer models. Something like a split seat would be fantastic so that you can get in without looking like a fool. It has vents in the 3rd row as well, which is good, but it would be awesome if it had vents in the ceiling so that you can position them for the 2nd row. That would be especially handy for people who have an... (more)
Story
When the weather was nice I would go for drives with the sunroof open and sing to whatever was on the radio. Very awesome for this area to have nice weather.
Pros
Space drives well good looking
Cons
Mechanics are a bit shoddy, windows have a hard time deciding if they can roll back up.

I have owned my Toyota Highlander for 10 years now and it still looks and drives great. I have never had any major mechanical issues in all the years that I have owned it. It has taken the wear and tear of two boys in all this time. It has survived snacks, sports equipment, crayons, and all the dirt and grime that they have brought to the interior. With leather seats, it is easy to wipe off the mess. Living in Arizona, many friends felt it was a bad call to go for the leather seats due to the burning sun but I am not disappointed at all in the decision. The car still drives with excellence. It has made several trips to California and Nevada, as well as the daily commute to school and work. I have always felt safe in my Highlander and enjoyed the smooth drive. For the size, gas... (more)
Story
We bought the Highlander just before the birth of our son. We drove him home from the hospital in our Highlander. He has been driven to and from all the major event in his life: the first day of school, family vacations, swim lessons, and more recently his All-Star baseball Champion game.
Pros
My favorite features of my Highlander are the leather seats, garage door built in button, color, and reliability.
Cons
The only con that I can think of is the leg room in the third row flip up seats. Only my son and nephew can fit.

Buying from Hertz is no hassle, no negotiations, and they gave me $300 off from a coupon that I was not qualified for just to get me in the car. They are competitively priced as well, so I felt I got the best deal I could. After all the taxes and fees, I only paid like 1300 over sticker price, which is great from a dealer.

They listened to what our needs and wants were regarding the vehicle we wanted to buy. They didn't try to upsell us or show us cars that we weren't interested in. They didn't pressure and, although it took some negotiating, we ended up getting a great price for the truck.
