I currently drive a 2011 Toyota Prius. I previously had a 2005 Prius that was totaled out when some teenage boys decided to turn in front of me. My 2005 had 225,000 miles on it and ran like a kitten. I bought this latest Prius used in 2014 with 16,000 miles on it and in immaculate shape. I now have almost 50,000 miles on it two years later and it is still purring. The pearl white exterior color is very rich looking and clean. The interior is trimmed in grey with leather seats, which I can heat in the winter! I love how the hatch can hold so much. I have carried lumber in the back of my car and closed the hatch! All I had to do was fold down the back seats and the 8' lumber slid in perfectly! My family jokes that my Prius runs on grape juice. It doesn't, but it does get a... (more)
Story
My sons all rodeo, so we usually take the truck and trailer on trips. Once I had the opportunity to haul a group of teenage rodeo boys across Texas. At first, they said they wouldn't be seen in my car. When they realized I was their only hope of getting to the rodeo, they piled in, but put their hats down over their eyes...hoping nobody would see them. By the time we got to our destination... Pros
The quality is outstanding. Toyota has exceeded all expectations for a quality product.
Cons
I can't haul horses or cattle :-(

I enjoyed this car upon first purchasing it. I could get 50 miles per gallon, which saved me time, gas and money as a college student. The Prius is very spacious also, great for traveling or moving from dorm to dorm. However, when the car started to have issues, I really realized what I'd gotten myself into. A Prius is just like a computer, and it truly confusing to diagnose and repair. For example, the car has two batteries. And one of them is in the trunk. No kidding.
Story
This vehicle got me from Houston, Texas to Dallas, Texas for $10 roundtrip! That's a 400-mile drive, 800 miles roundtrip. The best thing about the Prius is fuel economy.
Pros
My favorite thing about the Prius was gas mileage. You can not beat 50 miles per gallon, especially if gas is under $2 a gallon. The Prius was great for long- and short-distance travel. Great A/C functionality, and the car's battery (hybrid battery, there's two different batteries) is easy to recharge also. All it takes is for a 20-30 minute cruise to give your hybrid power again. I love the interactive display that shows battery usage and gas consumption while driving.
Cons
The main con of having a Prius is vehicle repair. God forbid something happens to your Prius—it can be a nightmare. The car has a standard battery and a car battery. The standard battery is in the trunk and is so difficult to get to. The hybrid battery costs about $10,000 to replace, and that's the quote for a used one. However, hybrid batteries last up to 15 years. So be mindful of the year of your Prius.
