Enduring, Fast Car
I have owned my Jetta for a total of 12 years, having purchased it in 2004 when it was one year old, as it is a 2003 model. It is a gorgeous shade of silver that has kept its shine for all these years. Also, its engine has never given me any problems so long as I maintain it with regular oil changes. It has great pick up and has never skidded on water - only on snow. Its price is great considering how long it lasted.

A clear winner
I have owned five cars in my adult life, and my 2010 VW Jetta is my hands-down favorite. When I bought it, it had 43K miles on it. There was a problem with the engine (the exact problem escapes me), but it was covered under warranty. From 43K miles to roughly 120K miles, the only repairs that have been necessary are standard maintenance (tires, brakes, oil changes). Now that it has reached 128K miles, the repairs are becoming more frequent. I just had to have the ignition coils replacedÑbut at $600, I guess that's not so bad! My car handles well in snowy Buffalo, NY, and it simply feels sturdy on any road and in any weather. I absolutely adore the heated seats and side-view mirrors. What other base model has those awesome features? The only real complaint that I have is that there is some rust. For some reason, the area directly below the rear license plate is rusting out. Oh ... and one more thing. The hubcaps do not stay on. I've seen many an older Jetta missing one or more hubcaps. I look forward to owning another Jetta when it is time to buy my next car. I've never had another car that lasted more than 100K miles before it needed to be junked. I hope this one hits at least 150K.

Good, but not great: The Jetta
I have had my Jetta for about three years now. When I first got it, things were fantastic. The peppy little four cylinder turbo had the amount of acceleration I was looking for after coming from a bigger vehicle (Jeep). The fuel efficiency of this car was a major selling point for me, 27 mpg city and 37 mpg highway are nothing to sneeze at. While the efficiency and peppiness got me hooked, some things lost me. The volume knobs on the radio fell off very easily, and the engine now makes a weird noise upon startup, even though all maintenance plans have been followed. The leather on the steering wheel and the seat is wearing rather quickly, even though they have been maintained. Cost of maintenance is another big con. The packages that are offered are expensive. Oil changes at my local Volkswagen dealership are over seventy dollars, not to mention their scheduled maintenance packages get more expensive as time goes on. After speaking to a mechanic friend, the cost cannot be justified by the service Volkswagen says is needed. Overall, it isn't a bad car, just more expensive then I would have anticipated.

Lash Volkswagen White Plains
2011 Volkswagen 1667
The staff at Lash Volkswagen were in general friendly, informative, and pretty cooperative. They were happy to show us a lot of their stock including older and newer models that had been shifted out of the way to make way for the other stock. They had really great programs (the general Volkswagen) kind which help you if you get stranded or your car breaks down. That was our favorite thing, they're programs not really anything otherwise extraordinary about the service or sale.

The sales manager was able to match the best deal I could get for the car elsewhere ($250 over invoice). The service rep repeatedly makes every effort to get me the desired appointment time and to perform the requested service in an efficient manner and at a good price. This dealership shows a genuine concern for the customer.

Every person who helped us out was very kind and courteous. The selection of vehicles to choose from were great. There was a lot of variety and plenty to choose from in our price range. The process of purchasing the vehicle was quick and simple. They helped make the whole process very easy for me, as this was the first time I purchased a vehicle.
