The Impala is a very dependable car with very little major repairs needed, even after having for a number of years and over 250,000 miles on it. It accelerates quickly and quietly so is very good for highway driving. I has a very large trunk that can take all the camping gear I put in it without issue and came with a full-sized spare which has come in handy a time or two. The A/C and heat pump out quickly to effectively cool or heat the interior. Both the front and back seats have seat belts to sit three people safely in both areas (that's six total with driver). The cruise control responds well to maintain the speed you set with out jerking or adjustment. The brake systems will make the car stop on a dime without making you spin out of control. Overall, this car is a workhorse that pr... (more)
Story
Loading up the trunk and back seat with camping gear to go to a Boy Scout camp out almost to the point I couldn't see out the back window. This car still drove perfectly over several of miles of a dirt road state park to get us there safely.
Pros
Great acceleration, it really has a lot of get up and go. Comfortable seats with the ability to easily take the back seat out to clean (comes in handy with kids or dogs). Each side of the back seats fold down so when you have to carry something too long to fit in the trunk alone you can use this feature. Cruise control is great on long drives and doesn't jerk to keep up what ever speed you set. This car isn't a money pit whereby it constantly needs repairs and replacement parts.
Cons
Not many cons other than as my car has the 3.8L engine it has to have titanium spark plugs when they need to be changed out which can be a little expensive. The hazard switch is a fuse that also controls the blinkers, so when this went out, the mechanic had to remove the dashboard to get to it. It accelerates so quietly and quickly that you wont know the difference between 30 or 85, which is not good if you drive with a lead foot.

2001 Chevrolet Impala - Unreliable car.

This particular vehicle is old and worn out. The front is scratched up and the bumper is falling apart. Every week something new is wrong with it. One week it's the headlights. The next week the muffler falls off. The next week the check engine light is on. It's hard to feel safe in the car.
Story
I was walking on a pier and dropped my keys in the lake. There were a lot of fishermen around and one graciously tried to get it out for me. After a long while, he finally got them!
Pros
It has a nice interior. The dashboard is clean and clear. The trunk is deceptively spacious. I'm a musician and I always need to fit a lot of stuff in the trunk. It makes it so easy to store and all the equipment I need for my shows. The seats are nice. The controls for the seats are varied and easy to access.
Cons
Things break frequently. The air conditioning only has hot air. It needs to be brought into a shop a lot. The headlights frequently go out and almost all the time, it needs to be filled with oil.

Everything was smooth, and they made it feel as though no one was trying to get over on me. They found me financing and a great deal.
