2002 Hyundai XG350L at 117,000 miles.
The styling of this car is great. For the price, I have to look twice when a Lincoln goes by, as the styling looks similar. And the cruise control works perfectly, when the transmission is placed in automatic mode. Overall, the interior and exterior have held up well over the years, always sitting outside. A new car should not be a problem. Compared to another car I drive, the XG350L feels cheap. What really got my interest in purchasing this car was the discount offered on this particular car with a $30,000 + price tag, was a ten thousand dollar discount.

Sounds like one happy owner of a very reliable vehicle. I would buy one.
This vehicle was my wife's choice. I told her we were going to purchase a small economy car for her frequent visits to family, about 200 miles away. As we had only been married a short time, I was not so quickly learning her ways. She had to have black, and of course, the salesman showed us the most expensive car on the lot. Being September, the new models were on their way, and the car only had 6 miles on it, with a 10K discount. Then the test drive. The car looked a bit like a Lincoln, and the acceleration was like being in a race car. I really had to hold back on start up so as not to spin the front wheels.

An ok foray into the introductory luxury models
I like this car. I like the leather trim, I like the (although fake) wood trim. It carries a simple elegance in the interior, although the electronics and dials seem dated these days. The ride can be a little harsh due to the low profile tires, so I highly recommend changing the tires. Gas mileage has to be the biggest drawback. Maybe it is just my car, but I am luck if I get 100 miles on a half gallon of unleaded. Maintenance-wise I have had no major issues and bought the car used with 70,000 miles on it. I have had to have the rotors changes and a little frame welding, other than that no issues. The car has plenty of amenities that make me happy, such as heated seats, self dimming rear view mirror, and electronic seats that you can program to remember the drivers seat preference. It has interior lights that are so bright, my children have no trouble reading on long trips in the back. The interior is roomy and one can easily fall asleep if needed. The engine has enough power to move the car fairly quickly despite it's size and weight. It also has a standard shift on the fly option if I feel like getting a sporty. All in all, this was my first dip into the entry level luxury models, and it's a dip I would like to take again. I have always liked Hyundai, and have always found their vehicles very reliable despite their reputation. I look forward to moving further up the Hyundai luxury ladder in a few years based off of my experience so far with the XG350.
