Good basic car with a touch of extras
I like the solid, somewhat compact feel of this car even though it is a full-sized 4-door sedan. It has the "vibe" of a small economy car while also having the feel of a full-sized car that is not "el-cheapo." The interior ergonomics are quite nice. The dashboard is pleasing and everything is within easy reach in terms of controls and devices, such as heaters, radio, wipers, etc. On the steering wheel is handy access to cruise control, etc. The car has a smooth ride. It's not a "rattle box" and even though this vehicle is now 16 years old, it still feels "all put together" and not "junky." If you ask me, it has too many warning devices such as constantly reminded you when something is amiss such as tire pressure or a loose fuel cap. I could do without these common sense kind of things constantly beeping at me. In my case, the electronics of the warning alerts seems to have gone crazy -- that is, I get warnings about things like "low coolant" when the the coolant level is clearly fine. I chalk this up to an aging car that is getting some "bugs" in the system. I choose not to repair these problems because it is too expensive, so I put up with all kinds of unnecessary warning dings and bings and just accept I am driving a "well-used car." This car has north of 180,000 miles on it and I still feel it will go easily another 50,000 without major repair. Speaking of upkeep, I have had a couple of fairly expensive "hits" such as when some kind of sensor malfunctioned and cost me almost $500 to get fixed. The car has good power and pick-up speed, so you can enter a freeway and not worry about getting "run-over" while you merge with the flow of traffic. The engine is not "doggy" and has pep. It's GREAT on gas mileage, which is a major concern for me. It does not eat oil -- all in all, this is a fine car.

2000 Buick Lesabre custom
I love my Buick! I was always a Chevy or a Ford buyer, but never a Buick. I became interested in Buicks through a close friend. He owned a Buick and said how much he liked it. I started looking around at Buicks. I visited almost every Buick dealership within a 50 mile radius of my home. I found them to be quite expensive, compared to Chevys or Fords. But the ride and comfort the Buick offered was outstanding. It is a much heavier and smoother riding car than the Chevy or Ford. It had a lot extra electronics in it (like a cd player, tape, steering wheel control features, etc.) that I really liked. Once I drove it. I felt that this was the car for me. It has four door and a V-6 engine with plenty of power and pickup. It seats four adults very comfortability. I could cruise at 80 ph and feel like I was floating on air. The gas mileage is fair. I get around 24 mile per gallon locally - but on a trip to Florida and back - I averaged 33.5 miles to the gallon when I was on the highway. It uses regular gas, but I always burned the high octane 92 or 95. I still own the car after almost 20 years. I never broke down with it on the road - but it is expensive to maintain as far as tires, batteries and service goes. I've been fortunate that after the warranty was up - I have a local mechanic that does all my servicing. The only real complain I have with it is that I've had to replace the automatic window motors three times on the driver side and once on each of the other doors.
