It's the perfect size car for a single woman
This is the second Blazer I've owned. My first was a 1999, and I sold it to my boyfriend. Both cars are still going strong! The size and height are what I like best. It has enough room for a few friends and just about anything you would want to carry. I've taken it on long road trips, off roading, and all around the city. It does great in any environment.

Good SUV with flaws
My 1997 Chevy Blazer has been a very good car considering the condition I got it in. It has needed a few major repairs. The lower control arms on both the left and right side rusted through. When this happens, the tire falls off the chassis. Fortunately, both times it happened I was parked and about to backup. Had this happened at speed it would have been a major accident. The repairs cost roughly $380 each time. I've also had to replace the sway bars due to the lower control arm failure. These cost around $10 each time, though I did the repairs myself. Replacing the u-joint gave a new life to the car, which before had a wild and rough noisy ride. This cost around $12 replacing it myself. It's at the age that cosmetic damage doesn't really matter. However, it still hides its age for the most part. I've used it the past two years to deliver pizza, so considering its condition, it really has held up well. It drives great, sits up high, and has lots of storage space. The 4wd doesn't work after this many years or I don't know how to engage it properly. It has gotten stuck on me at least once. I replaced all the tires, which also massively improves the ride. Many things no longer work as they should, which is normal for a car of this age. The engine still runs like a top and with a Sea-foam treatment has really quieted down and sounds like new. I intend to keep it until it cost to much to repair.
