2004 Chevrolet Cobalt - Go, go, Cobalt!
I drive a white, two-door Chevy Cobalt. Only having two doors can be a pain sometimes, but I rarely have enough passengers that it matters. She has a sunroof, six cup holders, two ac adapters, and a lot of miles. You wouldn't expect a Cobalt to feel powerful by the look of it, but once you slide behind the wheel it's a different story! It's very reactive to both the gas and brake pedals. She handles well, under the hood is clean as a whistle due to a plastic casing thing. It allows you to see very quickly and clearly the parts you're able to maintain on your own- wiper fluid, oil, spark plugs. The battery is actually located in the trunk which is pretty unusual. Easy to replace headlights and tail lights. The tail lights have that cool, round circle design. I do wish there was a bit mo... (more)
Historia
I drove out to Wickenburg on US Highway 60. I get really anxious about driving long distances by myself, but I had to do it for work. Despite how scared I was at the start, the early morning drive through the desert was beautiful. It was one of those moments when you realize just how big and diverse the country really is. Just twenty minutes outside of Phoenix but you feel like you're back in ... (more)
A Favor
I love pretty much everything about this car. It has plenty of storage in the console, dash, door pockets, and trunk. The sunroof is nice for Arizona living. There's a lot of visibility so conversely there is NOT a lot of blind spots. Great warranty. Did I mention six cup holders? Six cup holders! It also has good maneuverability and can fight into smaller spaces without ever feeling like a small car. My dog's kennel fits perfectly in the backseat and if open the kennel door, he can climb right over the console to my lap when I am a passenger.
En Contra
It might be user error, but I don't think the seats fold down for access to the trunk. That would be a nice feature to fit longer items. The fuel leak was also kind of stupid even though I didn't have to pay anything for it.
2009 Chevrolet Cobalt - Lots of recalls
The car would be OK if the keys would stay in the ignition. They had a recall for this problem. I took my car in, and they replaced the ignition to fix the problem. My keys never fell out before the recall repair, but they do now. I took it back to the dealer, but since they had already done the recall repair, the problem they "fixed" that I now have is my problem. I like the way the car looks and drives, and it is difficult to find a car with a manual transmission anymore. I am glad I had a warranty because this car was in for a lot of repairs that a car that new should not have needed.
Historia
I chose a black car because I like the way it looks. Since I live in the southwest, it makes the car a little warmer than a lighter colored car.
A Favor
I like the way the car looks.
En Contra
The keys fall out of the ignition.
