My 96 Honda Civic was one of my first vehicle purchases. I was very lucky in the fact that I spent my money there, as to me not having much knowledge about cars in general. The Honda has been a steady, reliable get around car ever since I got it. There have been no major mechanical problems, and the cosmetics hold up seamlessly well!

I like the body style. It has good windows, nice interior, cloth seats, easy access to trunk, gas tank, nice radio sound, runs very well for a small engine, and really great gas mileage. It has good take-off speed and easy to handle in and out of traffic and parking. It feels comfortable in the driver's seat, but I wish there were more than dash lights. It has a quiet motor and has nice roomy seats. The trunk is very spacious and deep to fit a lot into it. It is equipped with a hidden spare tire under the carpet in the trunk and storage for cables and small items for quick repair. It has a very roomy glove compartment, and it has a center padded console that opens for storage and also acts as nice as a comfortable arm rest for both front seats. I don't like the fact that the cup holders are located too close under that radio as you cannot fit larger drinks there, and that is a bad deal. It does have a few small storage places but not one on the ceiling for your sunglasses, which I really in the cars I own. I do like the two bright lights on the ceiling for each side of the car. It has a nice-sized windshield, and the sun visor actually comes down far enough to shield my eyes from the sun.
