Good buy
I bought my vehicle pre-owned, and it was still running great despite how many miles were on it. I really enjoyed the way the seating was, and the dashboard of the vehicle had a large visual appeal to me as well as the body style of it. One thing I noticed very quickly was that the mpg it got was very low and gas became very expensive for me, so I tried to drive only if it was necessary and never for pleasure. It was really fun to drive though, the engine was loud enough and it felt tough (in a good way). At one point I did get into an accident while driving it on the freeway, and despite how crunched up the front grill and outside of my vehicle was, I was not injured and in good health and was even able to drive it a few days later with only a few cheap repairs done to it. Another thing I really like about it was how much room there was behind the seats and not just in the back of the vehicle.

S-10 Holds Up, But Falls Apart at the Same Time
This little truck packs a powerful punch with a full size motor under the hood. Yep, people are shocked to find out there is a 4.3 liter, V6 engine in this little thing. The extended cab is a plus! It's so convenient being able to open the back door to keep stuff out of the rain or to even seat another person on the little fold out seat in the passenger wall. This truck came with so many surprises. From the outside she looks just like any other truck, but she can haul with the big dogs - almost! Great for moving furniture and other large items, yet able to fit into a compact spot at the Walmart parking lot! Good job, GM, I love how you designed this truck. Some things I would change, however, would be the plastic components used. After 15 years, the visors are breaking down and the seat handles have snapped off. But what can you expect after a decade and a half? So, not bad, GM, not bad. The engine has also held up very well with proper maintenance and care, there have not been any major problems. Overall, it's a good truck and gets the job done just as well as the bigger trucks.

A project
This thing has completely failed. I've had to replace the head gaskets and all the other gaskets along with them. I've put in a ton of oil and coolant, too! It has almost no "giddy-up" either. The 0-60 is probably close to 20 seconds or so. It does get me where I need to go and is small enough to U-turn in my neighborhood streets, which is nice.
