Overall, the Ford Explorer is a good buy, and I love driving this SUV. The base of the car is wider than older years which makes it feel more sturdy on turns. This SUV has been great in all weather, and the ease of using four-wheel drive by the turn of a knob is awesome for winter conditions.

I have been driving this car for about 4 months now and I love it. It fits all five of my kids, including three in car seats as well as all the luggage we need for a weekend getaway. We can even pull the four-wheelers along behind us. My favorite part of the car is the amount of room there is behind the back seat. I can make my big shopping trip, a common occasion for our household of six, and fit everything behind the back seat. My previous car I had to leave some of the kids home or I couldn't fit groceries. The fuel economy is awesome. I average 23 miles a gallon driving mainly in town with only a bit of freeway driving. So one tank of gas gets me more than 300 miles!! I recently took a road trip alone and was able to turn on the radio and cruise control, it was such a pleasant ride that 5 hours later when I arrived I was amazed that I was there already. I normally hate riding in the car so this is a big deal. Also it is a cute car, even my teenage daughter likes it and wants to take it for a drive. Haven't had this car long enough to talk about reliability but my previous ford had almost 200,000 miles on it before we traded it in.
