I think over all the car was a good purchase. It had low miles when I got it and only some minor cosmetic damage. There hasn't been much I've had to replace on it and definitely nothing in the major category I've done with it in the 10 years I've had it. I was bummed that there were so many body remakes after I purchased my Focus because that really made the resale value plummet. It is very light weight and has trouble in snow. Takes awhile to heat up when it is cold because it has a small engine in it. But that is good for gas mileage. I get just below 30 mile per gallon city and highway driving so that's pretty good for a 10-year-old car. I think I got a really good deal for the price I paid. I have had minor things happen here and there, but it is a ten-year-old car now. I have done regular maintenance on it and kept up on all the things older cars require. It is fairly small foe a vehicle, and one of my biggest concerns driving it is that people don't pay enough attention and will run me off the road. It's happened more than once. One thing that I don't think anyone else will write, and that is a feature of this car that isn't common is that there is no trunk release button or lever in the car itself so you need the keys to get in the trunk. I like it because that means all of my stuff I hoard in there is safe when I take it in to get worked on.

Jack of all trades.
The car has to be one of the better all-around cars that I have driven. From a daily commuter standpoint, I find that it is excellent for the price. When evaluating all the standard car metrics such as acceleration, braking, visibility, gas mileage, etc., it falls right in the middle of the pack while being an extremely affordable option.

Good on gas, low-mid power, decent cabin space.
There's a lot to love about the 2002 Ford Focus (4 door). It's a low priced 4 door compact with plenty of space and safety features. It's great on gas too and it takes maybe $23 used to fill it up. We fill ours once ever 2 weeks or so, depending on the amount of driving we do. One drawback is that the engine is really compact and thus it's more difficult to work on at home. There are makes and models of cars out there that can outperform it, such as Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas but the parts for those two are a lot more expensive. Because of that you spend a lot less on repair costs than you would for the competitors, with comparable space and a minor reduction in power. The truck space is able to fit quite a bit inside of it. Overall the 2002 Ford Focus (4 door) is a great car for the price range and much easier on the wallet if a repair ever becomes necessary.

The dealer answered all my questions and made sure that I was fully aware as to what kind of car it is and how much mileage it had on it. I was shown other cars but went with the ford focus since it matched what I needed.
