Top Debuts from the 2020 Chicago Auto Show

The auto industry headed to the windy city in early February to check out the latest vehicles from brands like Jaguar, Volkswagen, Nissan, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Jeep, Chevrolet, Ford, and Hyundai. Here's a look at the highlights from the 2020 Chicago Auto Show.

Jaguar brought a refreshed 2021 F-Type sports car to the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. Changes include a redesigned front and rear end and a simplified powertrain lineup: a base 296-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a mid-level supercharged V6 making 380-horsepower, and a top-end supercharged V8 that makes 575 horsepower. No manual is offered, only an eight-speed automatic. Inside, the upgraded F-Type gets an improved 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

Genesis -- Hyundai's luxury brand -- used the Chicago show for the U.S. debut of it's first-ever GV80 luxury crossover. This three-row model will come with one of two engines: a base 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that should make around 290 horsepower or an optional 3.5-liter turbo V6 with around 375 horsepower.

The GV80 is expected to start around $50,000 and climb into the mid-$60,000 range for a more loaded version. Rear-wheel-drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission will be standard; all-wheel-drive will be optional.

The interior of the GV80 will be highlighted by brushed metal, matte wood finishes, and leather seats and surfaces that use a more unique color palette than the typical black and tan. A 14.5-inch touchscreen sits in the center of the dash, while a rotary controller sits in the center console. The GV80 will seat five as standard; a third-row of seats will be optional.

Chrysler used the 2020 Chicago Auto Show to debut an update to its popular Pacifica. This 2021 minivan gets a cosmetic update in the front and rear plus the addition of optional all-wheel-drive on gas models (plug-in hybrid models remain front-wheel-drive only).

The Pacifica will also offer a new top-end Pinnacle model, seen here in PHEV form, that adds a variety of luxury features like quilted leather seats (with throw pillows!), and a larger center console that offers more storage and flexibility.

Inside the updated 2021 Pacifica, Chrysler has added the first use of its new UConnect 5 infotainment system, which allows wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, over-the-air updates, and supports Amazon Alexa. The screen itself also grows to 10.1 inches wide.

Inside the 2020 Cadenza, Kia has added a 12.3-inch infotainment screen in the center of the dash, redesigned the interior layout, and added a 4.2-inch digital display screen in the instrument panel. The car also gets an upgraded suite of active safety tech.

Volkswagen has updated its Atlas large crossover for the 2021 model year. Key changes include a revised front and rear fascia, and the availability of the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with VW's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.

This 2020 model is now powered by a 3.8-liter V6 that makes 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission; no manual gearbox will be offered.
