The Honda Civic gets reasonably good gas mileage if you are careful how you drive. I could get the published mileage only by being extremely attentive to not accelerating. The car is reasonably comfortable and has sufficient storage. It has been fairly reliable over the 130,000 or more miles that I have owned it. Maintenance is not too expensive with a few exceptions.

It has been fairly reliable. I kept up with the maintenance schedule and had very few major failures. It is pretty economical to run and maintain.
