2009 Honda Civic - A reliable car that never has issues.
This car is really popular and has been for many decades. There is good reason for that. The Honda Civic lives up to its name in reliability. I've driven this car for ten years, and we've only had minor, standard maintenance costs. The ride isn't the smoothest, but it is an economy car and well worth the money.
Historia
We stuffed a large TV purchase into the back seat shortly after we were married. It was a scary ride home, but the TV arrived in tact!
A Favor
Best features in this vehicle have to be the reliability you get for the price. To have driven this car for ten years with almost no maintenance costs is astounding to me.
En Contra
The ride is not the smoothest, and the seats are quite close to the ground. This can be frustrating on the highway when you are surrounded by large trucks. I do wish that the ride was smoother as well.
2012 Honda Civic - Nice but to much hype.
I am in the car business for another brand (Hyundai) So there are vehicles that first come out of peoples thoughts when you thing about purchasing a car. One is Honda. With the Accord and most of all the Civic you would think if it's not broke don't fix it. Don't get me wrong I love my Civic to death but it is far from perfect. Love the style, the look, the unique dash and the multi information screen. The curves and the nice "jet engine sound" from the 1.8 Litre iVETEC engine. However it comes with out its flaws.
Historia
I took my Civic on a race track. I didn't want to see how fast but how it feels when at high speed. Wow that baby sounds like a dream. No shaking what so ever. It was the first and last time I took it to test how it felt. 115 MPH felt so smooth that I couldn't feel anything.
A Favor
It is a fun car to drive. The ride is smooth quite and better yet when you turn off the ECON mode and hit the gas. Oh boy that baby sounds like a small jet is about to come out. In the SI trim you can really tell but I can hear it in my EX Civic. It's the right size for someone who is going to work and not looking to go one a long trip with four others. The engine is a 1.8 Liter iVETEC and let me tell you it is awesome on gas. At $2.04 A gallon you can fill it up with about $25 perhaps closer to $22 for a full tank.
En Contra
Forget trying to pass someone on the highway with the ECON mode on. Half the time I forget and wonder why so sluggish. Id doesn't guzzle gasoline when it is off but you can tell that ECON mode on does make a difference on the road. The plastic on the dash feel very cheap. Almost Ford cheap. The interior has not changed since the 2009 models if I am not mistaken and still the same till 2013/2014. Nothing will be worst than the warning system. At times the tire pressure warning will appear for no reason. If not the check fuel cover comes on or worst of all the TPMS system warning. This is wo... (more)
