2010 Honda Fit - Best Compact Car
This car has seriously generous amount of space, very easy to use foldable seats, and the car takes an absolute beating and continues to keep functioning. Car is at almost 100,000 miles and has had absolutely no maintenance problems that were not either caused by me, or in an accident with someone else. It looks great both on the outside and inside, and the seats are comfortable and the dash is well designed. A/C is sufficient for the size of the car, and is able to keep it the appropriate temperature in both summer and winter. Seats are comfortable even for long distance travels, and the gas mileage is able to go a significant distance without refueling. Easy to switch gears, with option to use paddles to do so as well as an easy to use cruise control system. If you are someone with a... (more)
Historia
Despite the significant snow in Milwaukee, the Fit was able to handle the roads with minimal work and even when loaded down with heavy equipment. Does not fishtail or move around very easily, its low to the ground, and is responsive.
A Favor
The size of the trunk, the well designed foldable seats, good gas mileage and requires only the basic maintenance to keep running. Despite heavy abuse the interior and exterior still hold up, even including surviving a number of Midwest winters. No issues with worn seats or steering wheel and no evidence of sun bleaching. Steering and stability are good, with no significant difficulties driving in various weather, including snow. My favorite features is the trunk and the seats which expands the usable area to almost 75% of the car. The material on the trunk and the back of the seats do a g... (more)
En Contra
Some features are not as up to date as similar cars from that year, including built in GPS and/or rear view camera. Stereo is only adequate, and like other tech stuff on the car is not up to date with other cars from the same year. Also despite the car being large, the interior lights are often very dark even when you turn them all on, and it is difficult to find things in the back seat are and the trunk. Power in the car is not great if you don't have it in sports mode, which can eat into fuel savings.
2016 Honda Fit - My Honda Fit
IÕd read so many positive reviews about the Fit that I practically tuned everything out during the test drive, thinking this is the Òmust haveÓ car for practicality, comfort and styling. I am impressed with the interior features, Bluetooth, terrific standard styling of extras in steering wheel, the wonderful visibility and cargo space is good. The design is very masculine, including some silver-framed vents which look downright cheesy. The armrests are awful. There are really none on the right side as itÕs much too low. The seat configuration is not wholly comfortable, especially the head rest, and lastly, the ride is rather bumpy. É Honda Fit, you are quite attractive but are not built for real comfort on the long haul.
Historia
My mom would pack all the usual stuff: trail mix, fruit, marshmallows to roast over the fire, stuff to make sandwiches, etc. WeÕd take a road trip to the mountains in Colorado, find our spot to set up camp and pitch our tents near the river. I loved listening to the sound of the river at night!
A Favor
Very clever and functional rear seat; good vehicle dynamics, as you would expect from any Honda; excellent fuel consumption, especially with CVT.
En Contra
Build quality a bit on the variable side. Too many push buttons for minor controls, although some progress has been made; on the expensive side, which may be mitigated by HondaÕs generally excellent resale value.
