Reliable, affordable, comfortable
I bought this vehicle used six years ago. It now has about 130,000 miles on it, and it has been a very reliable car overall. For the price we paid, I've been very pleased. It is comfortable to ride in, has plenty of leg room and trunk space, and has a nice set of features for a car that is now eight years old. It also gets great fuel economy. We've had to invest minimally in repairs over the years, and some of the issues were probably my fault (e.g. we had to get the ignition replaced because I had too many heavy items hanging from my key ring). As it's getting older, some of the features have begun to wear out, such as the interior gas tank release switch and the windshield washer pump, but these are not essential items for me, and I've just opted not to fix them. I feel very safe driving this car, and I love that the purchase price was reasonable enough that we were able to pay off the car loan a year ago, and I still feel like I will be happy to drive it for a few more years. Bottom line: While it's nothing fancy, it's been a great car for the price, and I would definitely consider purchasing a Sonata again for my next vehicle.

Highly unsatisfied.
I much dislike my Hyundai Sonata 2011 because of all the defects, issues, and recalls I've had so far. When we first purchased the vehicle, we thought it was the best decision ever because of its ten year warranty. However, the dealership we deal with is not customer service friendly. They do not do a great job communicating with me as a customer. The car has had several recalls. Ranging from airbags to steering wheel. And yes, don't get me wrong. It gets fixed, but the car, overall, in my opinion, is not a great investment. It looked great when we bought it and has held its form and had no major issues with the exterior, but the interior seems like it won't last. I'm scared the motor, transmission, or any other major car system is going to break down and leave me to deal with the bill because my warranty has expired. I would not ever recommend this car brand to anyone, and trust me, I did my research before purchasing this car, but apparently when I bought this model, the issues rose from few to almost 30%. Of course, I gathered the information from the internet.

Great, well-built car
Well designed, well built car. Even the base model comes with the most desirable features. I like the digital connectivity and the abundance of power outlets. The steering wheel controls are very well laid out and easy to use. The trunk is quite large, with a sizable pass-through when the back seat is laid down. The rear seat leg room is less than I find comfortable; but I am six feet four inches tall. The gas mileage is reasonably good. The Bluetooth connectivity is very easy to set up and to use. Storage in the middle console is amazing, providing several separate compartments for various sized items and quick access to items such as writing utensils, change, CDs, et cetera. As far as the overall technology included in this vehicle, the one feature that I personally find to be virtually useless it the BlueLink system. After the first year of ownership, the features become way to expensive to retain (in my personal opinion). But this minor aspect is easily overlooked with consideration of the industry leading bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Arranged for an out-of-state purchase and the sales rep. made the entire experience incredibly smooth and stress free. From the initial point of contact - to having a remote 3rd party tech come out on site and inspect the vehicle - the follow up from my rep. was above and beyond expectation. I had been shopping around and was really turned off by other experiences I encountered at other dealerships - reps. who couldn't answer simple questions or get back to me with detail such as what work was performed, if any, on a vehicle prior to going on the lot for sale. Or if there was room for negotiation. I had just about given up on going through a traditional dealer - was considering Carvana as they had a vehicle I liked and wanted - until I found this option at Autonation Hyundai Tyler. I didn't hold my breath when making the initial call - but was pleasantly surprised and felt they wanted my business - and rightfully put in effort to make the whole experience as smooth as possible.

The dealership was average as far as the methods they used to sell me a car. The process took all day long and I would have like to have had the opportunity to choose from one than the one car they showed me. If I wasn't in such dire need of a new vehicle that I could rely on I would not have purchased a car from them.
