My Jeep Grand Cherokee may be the first car that I've ever owned, but when I eventually get a new car, it's going to be hard to top this one. It has been nothing but reliable, and as someone who doesn't know a lot about cars, I need reliable. The car has been in my family since it was new in 2007 and it has been mine since 2013 and I've had very few problems with it in the last two years.

Can withstand rough treatment and driving. Dependable. Luggage rack easily holds canoe or kayak. Able to easily drive on rough, rocky roads. Con is the poor gas mileage. Had this car for about nine years now and hardly anything has needed replaced other than brakes and tires. Not many recalls either. The leather seats have held up well with two young kids. Handles well in the rain. We have never been stuck in the snow. Very reliable vehicle for bad weather. The back is a nice size for groceries or putting a kennel in to carry a small animal to the vet. Electronic system has worked well. Only needed one recall on that but was easily fixed. Accidentally knocked off one of the rear view mirrors and went to O Reilly's to purchase another one, and it was actually not very expensive. The driver seat sits high enough to easily see the front of your vehicle when parking.
