1996 Kia Sephia - My Experience With My Kia Sephia
This was, in general, a very good car. The finish and materials were very good, and I was pleased with the way it held up. I drove it several years and put over 20,000 miles on it. This wasn't a luxury car, by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a good car for daily use. Fuel economy was good, and the engine required little maintenance. The body had a solid, tight feel to it. The seats, while not luxurious, the were quite comfortable, and I could sit in them to drive all day. The car did have its quirks. There were a few routine type parts that should have been available from any auto parts store which were only available from Kia. I never had any problems with getting it serviced or repaired, however. The only reason I would not rate this particular model superior was that when... (more)

I never had any problems with getting it serviced or repaired, however. The only reason I would not rate this particular model superior was that when I had a problem with the transmission, the transmission could not be fixed. It had to be replaced, which struck me as rather extreme. But in general, I was very pleased with the car and would buy another Kia.
I had the car in Tucson, Arizona, where summer high temperatures routinely reach over 100 degrees. I was afraid the car would not hold up to the heat, as I drove it some distance to work every day, but it performed quite well. I was afraid the car would not hold up to the heat, as I drove it some distance to work every day, but it performed quite well. I was especially afraid the air conditioner may have been made for a more temperate climate. As I drove home from work, I was always headed into the sun. So the afternoon sun shone directly through the windshield onto me in the afternoon, which of course, was the hottest part of the day. My wife and I were going on a short day trip in southern Arizona, and I was afraid the A/C wouldn't hold up as I was used to being just a little warm in the afternoon. I was surprised, however, when my wife asked me to turn down the A/c not once, but three time during the course of the trip! And, on the way home, she had me turn it off completely. So after that, I realized that it was just the route home that was perhaps causing me to be a little warm in the afternoon, and not any inherent fault with the car's air conditioner.
Solid body, comfortable serviceable seats. Easy to drive, good fuel economy.

1996 Kia Sephia - Good, but not great.
The 1996 Kia Sephia is a good first car, but it isn't a great car. The build is fairly average but it is durable. The car itself is well built. The interior isn't fancy, but it gets the job done. It is clearly a car from the past. The trunk space is small so it isn't suitable for large families. The gas mileage is about average with a car of it's age. It is a practical car that doesn't offer much in terms of luxury. It is a very basic but reliable vehicle. The Kia Sephia is a small car, but it can still fit a guitar in the backseat. I play guitar so it is convenient. I live on terrible dirt roads so the vehicle doesn't exactly have the best time going down the road, but for the most part, the vehicle is both reliable and rugged enough to deal with whatever you throw at it. I would recommend young people or independent elderly people to purchase the vehicle because of its low price and reliability. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that isn't single because it isn't a big vehicle at all.
I was working on the vehicle and had a great chat with my friend. I enjoy working on vehicles and it was a great experience to be able to have a personal conversation while doing something I enjoy.

1996 Kia Sephia -
I am very much pleased with my vehicle. I purchased it eight months ago and it has given me minimal problems even though it is an older model vehicle. My car has been used for work in food delivery and been a good compact family vehicle. It has a lot of miles but still runs great.

I enjoyed being in this vehicle and puling up to my favorite spot Sonics drive-in. My family and I will sit and enjoy corn dogs and ice cream there.

I have to say that there are many positive aspects of this car. The main thing that is attractive when it comes to this car is the gas mileage. I get about 30 miles per gallon on the highway and just slightly less in the city limits. The car is older but fully functional in all aspects. The seller provided me with an up to date stereo system and brand new tires, which after months of constant riding have barely lost tread. The air conditioning and heat are perfectly operational which is major in this south Georgia climate I live in.

I consider my vehicle to be in good shape for its age but it does have its down sides. The mileage is very high which would mean even though it is running great I cannot predict if it will fail me in the spur of the moment. It is a small car and I have 4 kids. My family has to take our van if everyone is to be able to move around at once.
