Don't buy this overengineered German junk car, especially if the car has any rust. The suspension on these vehicles if poorly designed, requiring part replacement fairly often. Any onset of rust will fuse some of the suspension parts together (notably the shocks and wheel bearings) and make them difficult, if not impossible, to replace. The car also requires an unusual, expensive tire size. The engine and transmission on these are somewhat bulletproof, but the suspension is horrible. You cannot buy aftermarket hubs for these, and if the wheel bearings are fused then you will need to secure a used hub just to replace the wheel bearing. It also has sensors for every last thing, and will go into limp mode when normal problems arise. If you do buy one of these, make sure that it doesn't ha... (more)
Historia
I went to unbolt a control arm to I could replace the joint and replace the boot with an aftermarket one, but the bolt sheared off with minimal force. It could have been a disastrous wreck.
A Favor
It looks nice for a mid-size SUV. The cargo area has a good amount of storage space once you let the seats down. It is designed to live through a violent accident if necessary. The driveline is good for a few hundred thousand miles or more.
En Contra
The suspension is poorly designed, and the components require replacement often. Upgrading the suspension is a requisite, if you are able to. Once rust sets in, it is all but impossible to replace the struts or wheel bearings.

I have had this vehicle for over a year now, and I love it. It is great to have a vehicle that is quiet and does make any "odd" noises. So far, there has been no major problems with it other then some small easy fixes and things that were needing to be fixed when I bought it. It runs smoothly in both the summer and winter. The AC and heat work great. I love the dark purple/blue paint of the vehicle. The size of the vehicle is perfect. The seats fold down so that I can haul my box bike and snowboard around. It also has enough room for my to haul lengths of wood moldings for my framing business. The windows are tinted enough, so that the sun doesn't blind me and the sunroof is great to use in the summer. It has all wheel drive which is wonderful, especially in the winter, when I am trave... (more)

Packing up my snowboard and heading up to the slopes in the vehicle. It is nice to know that I have a dependable vehicle that can make the trip.
A Favor
Some of my favorite things are the space in the vehicle, the sunroof, the cd changer, the extra cup holders, the seat warmers, and the tinted windows.
En Contra
The dust and dirt show up on it much easier. It has more miles on it (160,000).
