2004 Nissan Sentra - Pleasantly Surprised
The Nissan Sentra is a good little car to get you where you need to go. It is decent on gas mileage and has never broken down on me. I bought the car used with 10,000 miles on it. Now it has close to 150,000 miles. With basic preventative maintenance (eg. fluid changes, belt changes, tire rotations) the car has no rattles or starting issues. I've even taken this car on trails in the woods. It has enough power to get me where I have wanted to go. It has decent get up and go, I get 0-60mph in about 45 seconds. The car also pegs out at 120mph but it will go faster than that. It handles well in snowy and icy conditions.
Historia
I have drove this car through Hatchers Pass in Alaska. Generally this is a drive only trucks do but I felt like a challenge. Driving slow and paying attention to large potholes and/or rocks is how I made it through. Trucks were passing and laughing at my friend and I, but it was fun all the same.
A Favor
This car is small, I never have any problems finding parking spots to fit in. It has decent gas mileage. Since the car is pretty common, it is easy to find parts for it when needed. For the quality of vehicle it has a good price tag as well. I have about 150,000 miles on my car and expect it to continue running well for another 100,000 because I keep up with the car's maintenance.
En Contra
After about 100,000 miles, small things started going out in the car. The heater went out, then the A/C. These things do not affect the cars performance though. I would not recommend this car to a tall person, either, as it is compact on the inside. The trunk is roomy, however, if you expect to fold the back seats down for larger objects you will be disappointed. There is not a very big opening from the trunk to the back seat area.
