1999 Volkswagen Beetle - Mostly pleased with the car
Overall, I am satisfied with the car. Although it was 14 years old when I bought it, the body, upholstery, and all inside parts were still in great condition, telling me they used good quality materials. The front seats have much more headroom than I was expecting, even my 6-foot tall husband has a lot of room to spare. It starts right up in the winter even with our well-below freezing temperatures. It is a very fun car to drive.
A Favor
I love the "lime-ade" color, which is unique where I live. The spoiler puts the look over the top. I enjoy using the sunroof on good days. The windshield and windows are large, making it very easy to see everything around you. The turning radius is great, which was important to me since I live in condo complex with not much room to maneuver.
En Contra
It doesn't get as good of gas mileage as it should, about 5-8 mpg less than average. The most frustrating thing about this car is the cup holders. They are located underneath the dash, which means you have to lean your drink sideways to fit it in the holder. If you have anything larger than a 12 oz. Can, it will not fit.
