Overall, the Toyota Highlander is a great car. It performs well in almost all situations, and has pretty good gas mileage. For a family, this is a great choice if a SUV is in your interest. When the car was new, it drove very smooth and quiet. Also, the initial price of the car was a fair price. How the car looks is also quite nice - it has a sporty appearance and is a good size for a SUV - not too big or small. From my experience, the Highlander gets decent gas mileage in the city, (around 25mpg) and up even better on the highway (up to 30mpg). The Highlander also works good if you have dogs - the back of the car is easy to clean in a hurry. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for an exceptional all-around SUV.

The space in the car is great for a family. My husband is very tall and he fits comfortable in the car. The truck space is nice when we don't need the extra seat. We carpool several children to school everyday and have enjoyed the back seat feature. The car has been reliable for transporting children. I have always felt comfortable driving children even in the winter months on snowy and icy roads. I would like to be able to manually engage the four-wheel drive instead of it being automatic. I am not sure it always works when needed. We have driven the car on several long-road trips with no problems.
